anyone watching G-town and Depaul?

This team has 6 guys that can put up a double double atleast every other game. And a 7th in southerland that puts up a double double once every 31/2 games atleast.

We are draining our free throws. We aren't shooting a good FG percentage and three point percenage which is suprising. Its perplexing really.

As far as tools are concerened we have all the tools on offense except a true high post bumper and powerforward. And we have CJ and Southerland to give us enough midrange post up.
Freshmen Rak is coming along offensively some to become that PF. He has put up some good early points this season. If he starts breaking out at the end of the year like Hakim Warrick did then Look out.

Defensively we have it all outside of strong rebounding and weight in the paint. Our wing weakside shotblocking has been killing it the last few games. CJ deserves some big time credit there.

We don't rebound the ball that well on the defensive end to be considered the best team in the last 15 years. Teams that sent 4 guys to crash the boards like Pitt and Marquette got extra positions. JB's philosophy to rebound and run get the guys on the top of the zone not to creep down low and help with rebounding instead they tend to leak and if we get the rebound it leads to many easy transition buckets. I love this philosophy, but it does hurt us when teams play for offensive rebounds 4 offensive guys vs 3 defensive guys allows our opponents to get some cheap second chance points. These ESPN analysts are definitely full of it with the Syracuse is the best team of the last 15 years. Remember though John Saunders is a REAL close friend of Dick Vitale they are both the Co-Chairs on the V Foundation board. It is obvious Saunders is taking his position from Dicky V who has been spouting we will go undefeated in the regular season.

Great point about CJ. His game has taken a leap in this area and not many people have talked about it.

They're not even a draw in D.C.
Have you ever tried to get a SU vs G Town ticket in DC? You have to sell your soul (which I have done a few times) in order to obtain one of those

Yeah, pretty much only if the opponent is Syracuse or Duke, though. Sell-outs are rare for them.

The only reason being that two years ago the whole arena was overrun by Syracuse fans. They refused to sell them publicly this time (and even resorted to giving them out free to students) just to keep SU fans out... while was only mildly more successful. All it did was make us more creative.

I was able to get ADA seats in the first level. What really added to the schadenfreude was the Georgetown fans next to us running their mouths only to get booted because they actually were sitting in the wrong seats and instead had nosebleeds.

We climbin' in yo windows, snatchin' yo arenas up.

He must have meant the best Syracuse team in the last 15 years, right? That would be much more believable although still debatable. I think 10 Syracuse would be this team if only because 12 Syracuse wouldn't be able to score on that zone.

That's a fun debate. I think 12 would wear 10 down.

1996 Kentucky was awfully good. Only two losses, I think, an early-season close loss to UMass (which spent much of the year ranked #1) and the SEC Final loss to Mississippi State. And I believe that was the team that had the freak-show first half against LSU. Something like 80 points.
And if you are right about their only 2 losses, the teams they lost to were the other 2 teams in the 1996 Final Four

Hadn't thought of it that way.

Just checked - UK was 34-2, with only those two losses. Lost to UMass by 10 and MSU by 11 in the SEC Final.

That is a very impressive season. 23 points away from running the table, didn't lose to a team that didn't make the Final Four, and also beat both teams it lost to.

And there's this, which has to be seen to be believed.
