2 things stand out for me

1.) 2 Guard- Who will it be Cooney or Gbinije (I like MG because he is 6'7 but I think Cooney is ready to become a big time shooter we all thought he would be)
2.) Free throw shooting of our big men (unlike the last few seasons this year we need frontcourt scoring and I fully expect a lot of post up opportunities for Rak and DC, can they shoot 70%-75% from the line)

I am concerned with how they will handle their flight to Dallas? Do they need neck pillows? what if C.J. plays a prank on Trevor and he cant get in his nap before touchdown in Texas? Will Cowboy stadium mess with our perimeter shooting? What if they open up the dome and it rains on the court? What?

i'd start my list with the freshman point guard (ennis) with no backup option. just way too thin for my taste. we'll see how it plays out.

  1. Backcourt inexperience
  2. Team three point shooting capability
  3. Ability to generate inside scoring

Those are the main things.

I know the 2 guard is a popular topic for fretting SU fans but I'm actually not worried about that at all. Cooney will be our starter, will play as long as he's producing and won't be looking over his shoulder after each possession or feeling the pressure to prove himself like he did last year. He gets to relax and just play this year and he will thrive!

My only real worry (aside from the injury bug) is getting offensive production from the 5. It was a hole in our offense last year and I'm not sure we can expect much more this year. I have my fingers crossed in hopes that DaJuan is ready to become the beast but we'll have to wait and see.

True freshman at point guard with no natural point guard or upper classman to back him up. That's it really.

I'm not worried about 2guard because we have a top recruit with height and athleticism along with a sharpshooter who is looking much improved. We don't need a lot of production from SG anyway.

Also, our big men are better free throw shooters than we've had in a long time. I will never expect 70%+ FT shooting from centers, though.

Edit: I should clarify that I'm referring to Gbinije as the top recruit, not BJ, though BJ could be a decent SG.

1. Tyler Ennis staying healthy - he goes down, so do we.

2. Someone able to hit threes consistently from the 2 guard.

Tyler Ennis = Hal Moore?

Lack of PG depth/experience is easily the biggest concern.

If anyone has anything other than the pg depth as a #1 concern, you should reconsider.

Not saying it'll end up being our greatest issue, but right now it's the leader in the clubhouse.

1. Backup PG minutes to spell Ennis. Serviceable enough?
2. Shooting.
3. Handling pressure M2M defenses (as always).
4. Enough C production.

Only backup PG, especially against a pressure team, and overall experience. Not worried about offensive production from the center spot. Many JB teams get little offense there including the NC season. Not worried about 2G either because we have a few options there. Many JB teams are PG and centered. That's where our strengths are (short of the backup PG as mentioned).

We made it through the TRob-McCroskey-Gorman-JWright years, and we also survived the heartbreak of AO's knee. Hell, nothing scares me any more. :)

ps: and also Fab Melo's paean to how stupidly self-absorbed one person can be ...

I'm concerned about the NCAA investigation which is bound to occur.

Backup pg ehh... As long as Ennis is healthy we are fine. No depth though I agree. Hopefully the 5 position provides good production, last year we played 4 on 5 a lot.

Worrying accomplishes nothing. We have what we have and I believe this will be a special year.

Homer Simpson quote under Alfred E. Neumann. I'm betting you are a fan of Looney Tune cartoons too.

I am worried for tobacco road. When we come into their league and win the ACC championship, Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year. They will have to raise the prices of their cigarettes after we smoke our way through tobacco road.
