Anything that you are worried or nervous about this team?

after seeing some our early ACC football games, I'm going to say referees

1. Point Guard. Will Ennis live up to his billing and the expectations that have been set for him based on his performance in Canada. Where do we go if we need anyone to play serious backup PG minutes either because of injury or foul trouble?

As for the 2G, this doesn't worry me as we have multiple viable candidates. It looks like Cooney is JB's annointed 1st Act at starting 2G this year. If he doesn't get the job done we can go to Gbinije, BJ and/or Bus. It's great to have options.

Same things goes for the big men. Lots of options and different alignments that can be used. We can play a combination of DC, Rak and Baye at the 4 and 5 or if Jerami or Roberson win lost of minutes at the 4 allow the best of the three to take most of the minutes at the 5. Lots of options and that is usually a good thing.

I was terrified of our lack of a back up pg last season and even more so now. It's going to catch up sooner or later

We lacked a backup pg last year?

It did... With 2 mins left in Atlanta..

Atlanta was a fluke. I've never seen a game where the refs foul both your guards...even so we never folded...If Ennis stays healthy, we'll be fine. Rest assured that JB will use the preseason to determine is MG can spell Tyler for a couple of minutes here and there. I know Saturday is only an exhibition, but I JUST CANNOT WAIT!!!!!! LGO!

worried that bj and roberson might not get enough playing time the first 5 games because cooney grant and cj average ac collective 44 points.

Worried they won't play this up 14 at halftime against duke.

In all seriousness I am worried dajuan will only average 11.5 ppg in 14 minutes.

I am worried about refs calling the clutch and grab fouls. On the surface, it would appear to help us more than it would hurt us, but this rule is going to cause fouls to pile up on guards. And we only have 1 pg.

I am worried North Carolina is going to storm the carrier dome like this...

Since this group likely will not be the defensive juggernaut that we've seen in the recent past (particularly at the top of the zone), this team may have to "win" games with its offense more often. CJ will be relied on for a lot of the offensive production; if he is a bit off or gets taken away, we'll need guys like Grant, Cooney and Coleman to produce points consistently, and right now they are all unproven commodities in that regard.

Im worried about the weight Im gonna gain after eating all the free tacos this season!

2. Shooting. In Trevor I Trust
3. Handling pressure M2M defenses (as always). CJ Fair. Another in the long line of ball handling forwards at SU.

Well, now that you've brought it up, I think we'll be in the league for the best part of 2 seasons before we can "get a call."

I know the 2 guard is a popular topic for fretting SU fans but I'm actually not worried about that at all. Cooney will be our starter, will play as long as he's producing and won't be looking over his shoulder after each possession or feeling the pressure to prove himself like he did last year. He gets to relax and just play this year and he will thrive!

My only real worry (aside from the injury bug) is getting offensive production from the 5. It was a hole in our offense last year and I'm not sure we can expect much more this year. I have my fingers crossed in hopes that DaJuan is ready to become the beast but we'll have to wait and see.
The irony here, of course, is that better outside shooting would create space and opportunities for more inside scoring.

Disagree on the reffing, I think JB is turning over a new leaf nationally as a coach as is the syracuse program in the ACC. I think syracuse is becoming more followable then ever before nationally and that will lead to better reffing. We will see less of those road games where the refs feel we are supposed to lose.

Although I would like to see the media treat cameron and chapel hill like a exciting arena to play big games in like they do the carrier dome. Like those early season out of conference big game matchups. The carrier dome is known for creating exicting games, where as a place like the pitt zoo is known for a harsh enviroment and home advantage. I hope cameron and chapel hill can turn out to be more in the carrier dome/msg catagory so they are somewhat enjoyable, and less like
@ marquette, nova, or pitt.

Three things worry me:
1. Tyler Ennis getting hurt.
2. Tyler Ennis fouling out.
3. Tyler Ennis getting suspended.

Place him in a hardened, foam-padded cell between games -- no skateboarding, jaywalking, or shopping for bathrobes at Lord & Taylor!

Other than that, I'm good to go. See 'ya at the Virginia game.-VBOF

Just offensive production in general, will need contributions from guys that haven't played much, if any, D-1 basketball yet. I think our D will be stellar (again).

The coaches will have a lot of explaining to do if Ennis isn't available at any point this season. I fully expect it to be a major issue.

The philosopher/poet Mickey Rivers once said: "I don't worry about things I can control because I can control them. And I don't worry about things I can't control because I can't control them."

That said, my main worries are an injury to Ennis and whether we have enough reliable outside shooting for a balanced offense.

I have no idea what that all means, but your avatar disturbs the hell out of me. :noidea:

1. Backcourt - Ennis is solid, Cooney should be fine - still not entirely sure what I'm getting from the other two. Not much experience back there.
2. The three-headed monster at center - this is gonna cause a lot of disputes in the chat room again this year!!
