AP / Coaches Polls (Sept 10)

This proves that after the top 5-10, all rankings are just speculative, biased popularity contest based on a couple games. The computer / power rankings factor in some facts, but clearly they have to also have forward-looking strength of schedule bias.

Pac-12 has seven teams in the Top 25 and Washington State is 26th. What a time to dissolve.
Those programs will be destroyed by Big Ten refs hope Oregon fans enjoy losing rock fights to Minnesota.

They do have the TV slots though ridiculous to see CBS showing UNLV-Michigan and NBC had Charlotte-MD on in prime time.

We have a great opportunity this weekend to impress the writers. Night game on NBC, and the overall shedule is TV weak, so put it nicely.

We go up against the Backyard Brawl, which is great nostalgia, but two teams who've already lost a game. And against Tennessee-Florida, but Florida looked like dog poop in game 1.

We'll get a lot of attention, need to make the most of it.

Agree.

Also, Bama could lose to the Rikers Island Football Team and they’d still only drop a few spots.

It’s amazing the way SEC teams get the benefit of the doubt.
What are the NIL opportunities like at Rikers? Asking for a friend.

Looks like were ranked 40 in the coaches poll. We must be just out of it in the AP poll.

When you start at zero and only beat cupcakes I guess this is what we should expect despite throttling our opponents. A bit too low for my liking. A win at Purdue will help a little but we likely won't get any respect until we beat UNC.

Sometimes it just doesn’t matter. Those cupcakes were two full contact scrimmages that put the team in a better position to meet it long term goals than starting the year with peer or better opponents.

See this is a funny comment, but they legit get credit for crap like that, and, you know, I'll see Nick Saban in Hell for it.
There is some speculation that Saban may call it quits after this year.

He's tired and burned out and hates all the changes
