Just took a quick look, but is it just us and Indiana from the P5 conferences that have not been ranked? Wow.

Yet while it is trite consider all those teams (that have been ranked) that don't have what SU has had in the past 5 years a portion of a conference title from a BCS conference ...

A conference that doesnt exist anymore. In 10 years we'll sound like Rutgers fans bringing up the "Middle 3" conference titles

No it doesn't but it was the same conference that once had VT and Miami and oh by the way the same one that had WVU in the BCS knocking the snot out of Clemson. Maybe in 10 years ... but this is within the last 5 so its pretty damn relevant ... 10 years from now we could end up piercing the top 25 in eight of them. The fact is my point is relevant to the context of the original post.

...the conference's BCS representative went and beat a good Florida team that year, so not quite an apt comparison.

We are the Buffalo Bills of college football... glory days in the 90s... have done a whole lot of nothing this century.

No chance of being more than a mediocre team. Basically irrelevant teams. I don't see how it changes for Syracuse. We seem to be just snakebit.

We played in four national title games in the 90s?

I didn't say we reached the heights the bills did but we were as close to an elite program as I can think of back then. We haven't fallen as hard as the Bills either... we at least have won some bowl games this century and have finished above .500

I know I was just being a smart ass. :)

Give me the 2012 team towards the end of the season against just about any team not in the top-10 in December of that year.

Too bad the first 9 games of each season count too.

If only Saint Marrone could have figured out how to start better than 4-5. :)

I can confidently say that I do not remember a time in my life where Syracuse was ranked in football... Pretty depressing

Duke was probably on this list before last year... one great year and everyone forgets.

2001. Finished the season in the Top 15.

Which means, sadly, that anyone who's younger than a senior in college probably doesn't remember our program ever being ranked.

But we got all that tradition, so it's cool. :(

I'm really hoping the IPF changes this. The recruiting aspect is nice but I'm really hoping the players already on campus use that thing all the time. We have a qb that throws fast balls thus we need wr's to be extremely comfortable in doing so. All college qb's miss some throws but the one's on target need to be caught 90% of the time. Some of these drops remind me of McNabb's rookie year on the Eagles where they aren't used to the ball being there that fast.

We really aren't that far off on offense despite the early season frusterations. We just need repetitions which should clean things up. We've seen how far a good defense can carry us In years past and I'm hoping their level of aggression in pass coverage rises with knowing the offense can match any points they give up.
