Just because I am scared out my wits, could Fab + JS possibly force us below 930...?

If we get UConned, oh God.

Has anyone seen anything about this? 2 fail outs in 2 years cannot be good.

I remember looking at this last year; I thought we'd be ok, but this could change things.

I'll get on it in a little bit

Ok, so a quick refresher. Here's the info from Wiki (so I hope it's right...)

The new policy will begin taking effect in the 2012-13 academic year, however institutions will have a period of 3 years to align their APR with the new standard. The postseason restrictions for the next few years are as follows:
2012-13 postseason: 900 four-year average or 930 average over most recent two years
2013-14 postseason: either 930 four-year average or 940 average over most recent two years
2015-2016 postseason and beyond: 930 four-year average[13]

We're not worried about the 2013 post-season, since that's already been decided. Also, keep in mind, these scores come out a year later, so for example, we don't know what our score was for last season. We won't find out until May or so of this year. Our current 4 year score, is 936, which is made up of the 2007-2008 through 2010-2011 school years. Here are the yearly scores

2008: 879
2009: 865
2010: 1000
2011: 1000

So for the 2013 post-season, we passed each easily. 4 year average score of 936, 2 year average score of 1,000.
So for next year, we'll need either a 4 year average score of 930, or a 2 year average score of 940. We are going to be rolling off the 2008 score of 879. In order to pass the 4 year hurdle of 930, we'll need to get an 855 or better. In order to pass the 2 year hurdle, we'll need an 880. So basically, we need an 855 or better. Now, Fab is going to hurt us, but I believe Dion came back and finished up his work, correct? 2009 was our worst year, and we still got an 865, so I'd assume we would be able to do better than 865, especially if Dion came back.

As you look further along, you need a 930 4 year average. It's obviously difficult to project a few years in advance, but the back to back 1000's in 2010 and 2011 will help. If we got an 860 each of the next 2 years, our 4 year average would be right at 930. 860 seems to be about as bad as you could reasonably do (I think UConn got a score even worse which really hurt them, but generally speaking) so I think for the foreseeable future we should be ok.

Didn't three previous walk-ons on the team get scholarships this year too? If yes, that could conceivably help us too.
