Portal is closed now minus some last minute entries needing to be processed. What are everyone’s thoughts? To be honest, I expected a few bigger names. Maybe we were spoiled by Fran’s magic right after he was hired.

I like some pieces we got on defense, productive guys from smaller conferences. I would have preferred we retained our guys on offense, think we got worse at WR. Yasin can be replaced by the committee of guys we brought in.

I don’t know where I stand, but I guess I expected more. Time will tell how it shakes out. Biggest upgrade by far was the coaching staff.

I don’t know about worse at WR, talented but less seasoned. Honestly, if our biggest worry ends up being WR I will take that. You need to remember they had to fill a lot of needs and there is only so much NIL we have, so guys like Diggs were not likely to be what we could afford this time. Totally agree that coaching staff is the biggest upgrade

Problem is I think our biggest worry is still offensive line. New coach will hopefully be an improvement but at least one starter quality transfer would have been great.

I think the defense will be better. I also think we will have some semblance of a threat of completing a forward pass which will keep defenses honest and let our offense be better. Impossible to believe any worse.

Definitely upgraded QB. Hope we still add an O-lineman or two. And hope we still add a playmaking safety. Add those things and we’ll be fine

I’d go 8/10 and 9/10. I think we upgraded at every position with wr to be determined.
D definitely improved. O I feel we improved at qb, rb and te versus portal entries. Again wr is tbd.
People may have issues with the guys we picked up but most have a lot of game experience. Also unless a billionaire or multiple multi millionaires alumni are deciding to open up their wallets and purses for athletics we have to budget for returning players and the portal.

Not sure why people keep saying we got worse at WR? Gill had 1 decent year and I attribute that to Mccord. Cook was unproven as was Ross & Hornsby. We got proven Wr in Cole weaver & traded Ross & Hornsby for Outten & Choppa Moore. Plus we got exp TE. Seems like good work to me

We had a bunch of WRs that we thought were going to show things last year. Turned out after JRS none of them really did much, Blame it on the oline and QB if you want. But the WRs caught about 1 50/50 ball all year, They were also struggling to get open.

At worst its a wash.

QB, even if Angelli doesn't play the room is better.

RBs, Willis had a few flashes. Nixon was fine. Hill was good in limited doses and probably had some of the better runs. Can we get the tough yds. Has potential

Oline. That big unknown that drives every year for like 20, The lack of really doing much here hopefully means the coaches think its going to be better.
