Arinze signs with T Wolves

He'll probably play a lot too. Wolves have had a lot of injuries and they're on the road to the lottery. Good for the big fella.

He's got five more games to strut his stuff.

Would REALLY like to see Arinze find a way to stick. I have a feeling that if he could ever latch on for a full season, he would then be able to parlay that into a multi-year journeyman big type of career [a la an Antoine Carr].

Basically this is turning into a five game tryout either for Minnesota, or some other team that will see he's a 6-10 dude, strong as an ox, can rebound, and scores at an extremely efficient clip. http://.com/arinze-onuaku-signs-with-minnesota-timberwolves/

Glad to hear this. Love Arinze but he's 6'9 at the most. That's his biggest problem, sadly he's a tweener.Too small to be center and too slow to play forward. He could definitely exploit some NBA forwards inside but he'd be exploited defensively just as much by those same forwards. He's still a horrible foul shooter so it invites the opposition to clobber him rather than let him succeed. Hoping he can find a niche, he's definitely talented.

Congrats to him. Kudos for his dedication and hard work. He deserves this. I hope he can stick with a team. Good person, great teammate and someone that will play within his limits and within the system.

Thanks to the man upstairs that Kahn isn't in Minnesota anymore.

And it may be the free throw shooting that hurts most.
I always saw AO as a Wes Unseld type. Same kind of bull on the block. (Potential 10 points/10 rebounds as a 40 minute avg.)
But even Unseld shot above 60% from the line.

Let's just hope they do not ruin another Syracuse guys career. I really do not like that organization.

Flynn had a devastating injury, Wes hasn't done anything else anywhere else and I don't think he got worse. Garbage organization but they didn't ruin anybody.

How about the kid from Arizona a few years ago?

Derrick Williams. He was raw coming out of college.

I know who he was talking about, had a great sophomore year and took the money and ran before flaws game out. You don't go from shooting mid 20% from three to over 50% and expect to shoot that in the league.

I mean it's not like any other syracuse players have had good careers lately. The only three players to have any sort of success are Melo, Warrick, and MCW (to an extent)

Wishing the best for A.O.
Hated seeing his brother play for the Ville

If you're good enough, it doesn't matter what team you're on.

But yea...we have history with minny

I loved AO - as an upperclassmen I think he had one of the most mature low-post games of any Boeheim player ever.

His two glaring weaknesses were always free throw shooting and conditioning. It seemed like when he was on the bench, he was too exhausted to even cheer.

He just didnt have the touch. the ball went it a lot - so it didnt really matter. but he was like throwing darts.

I liked Otis Hill's inside game too. For the life of me, I can not figure out how his arm band went out of style. I guess not many people had his muscles to show off.

I always liked Otis my man Hill too. He, DC and Arinze are captains of my "guys I run behind if a fight breaks out" team.
