Had we lost the first round tournament game to ND, and/or there was a bid stealer from BIG or IVY, we would not have much of a leg to stand on claiming the last spot. But even at that, we still would have deserved it over Army. Our first win over Notre Dame would be a push with their win over North Carolina. Then we would have beaten number 14, 15, 21 and 22 The would have lost to 15 and 16, and beat 15, and 17. they had no other games vs top 30 teams. So it’s clear their resume would not have measured up to ours. Almost all of the top ACC, BIG and Ivy teams schedule three or four big nonconference games. Army scheduled one.
