Snap shot of the last twelve months including sports that "no one cares about".

Men

Soccer #1
X-C #3
Hoops #23, last year reached #1 at one point
Rowing #18
Lax, #2 Seed in the NCAA tourney last year
Football - NG

Women
Field Hockey #4
X-C #22
Hoops #25
Lax #2 last year, played in National Title game.

According to the 2013 report to the Dept of Education ended up with excess revenue of $15.6M on $87.6M in gross revenue and $250K short in hoops of being the only department in the country with more than $3oM in basketball ($29,8M) and football ($38.5M).

Hell of a job by TGD based on the above.

Or... We could just be excited that we are a school building great programs in all sports. Being great in those other sports doesn't limit our ability to be good in football. So there's no reason our football team can't improve. I'm just excited we are out there being fantastic in so many sports. Being terrible in football this year stinks, but that shouldn't lead to wishing our other sports sucked just as much or more than football.

Can't be a good year without football going to a bowl game.
From a "feeling" standpoint I agree, but financially i don't think it makes any difference because of the bowl game rev sharing from all the other ACC teams. Don't we benefit from others' success (without the outlays of ticket purchases and travel from the crappy bowls)?

Yes, you probably make money since the ACC splits the money evenly. Max it out if the ACC fills all its slots, maybe takes someone else's.

Of course, the costs you can't quantify like being a non bowl team. These days that's pretty humiliating. And you miss the 15 practices, but historically we've had some unexpectedly good to great seasons following non bowl years (1995, 2001, 2012).
