For one, Syracuse athletics has bungled some big things in recent years, including allowing JB to hang on for years and years past his sell by date and hold the program hostage and foist one of “his guys” on us. Second, forcing Wildhack to hire Red to replace him. There’s lots to be worried about based on the athletic department’s track record. If they hire anyone but Hodgson or Schertz, it will be a failure and signal that they’re not serving the fans but instead inflating internal egos and interests.

It's SU fans - we worry about everything. I worry what this board would have said about the new AD hire if Lyke was never in the picture? We think Billy Donovan or Jay Wright would come back to replace Red but the best we could do at AD is a guy from Toledo?

I think the guy will do fine and I have no choice but to trust that the search committee did due diligence, but if LYKE was never in the picture there would be some hand wringing over the new AD.

It doesn't even have to be JUST Hodgson, but there's better candidates than Gmac or Shaheen Holloway. I think both would be awful hires at this point in time. We've spent years complaining about garbage offense and we are going to double down on it?

It’s not my preferred means of argumentation but I work with the tools I am afforded.

I disagree. There are many more good candidates out there than just those two guys.

Remember, Brown and Blair were both out-of-left-field choices. We could be blindsided again.

You haven’t presented a single objective, fact and data driven argument that makes BH a bad candidate or an analysis showing how Gerry or others are better than him.

It’s all barely baked out general numbers paired with stupid nicknames and clear bias. So if you are trying to shed the troll title you’ve got a lot of work to do to get on the normal poster bubble.

Who’s worried?

We all should be worried. I'm pretty sure any coach worth his salt is going to know that one of the reasons, maybe the biggest, Syracuse failed too be competitive is a middle of the road at best budget. Without a top tier budget to get the best players, the odds are against them doing much better than Autry and they know it.
