Shafer was here doing a huge part of the recruiting when Marrone was the coach. So technically Shafer is also responsible for leaving the cupboard bare then too.

Not necessarily, there were a bunch of recruits that Shafer wanted to bring in that Marrone said no to. Marrone had the final say on offering kids, Shafer did not.

Look lose your emotion and see the reality of how young this team is. This is without doubt the youngest SU team certainly the past 40 years. The reaon it's so young is because the upperclassmen are not good. That's what Marrone has to with it. Those are his players! He basically recruited next to no one of value very few juniors and seniors are contributing. Is it that hard to understand?

Morrone is gone! We have to play with the players we have. On defense, these young players need to learn how to make some stops and get off the field. Penalty on the facemark...killed a game saving stop. The corner, that kept getting beat last year...is still getting torched again this year. He must be the best we can put out there...because he keeps playing. From what I have seen, our defense is getting beat down physically...teams are just powering through us. We need to get bigger at the D line and quicker at the line backer spots.Our defensive ends are not setting the edge...Pitch tosses, power end sweeps, bubble screens anything on the perimeter is killing us...

Come on. Shafer & Daoust were bringing guys to Marrone, who would then have the final say. Being that Shafer was recruiting to his D system, I am sure Marrone gave him the benefit of the doubt on kids as well. The talent excuse on D is more on Shafer than Marrone.

Doesn't matter one bit. So it's Marrone's fault Shafer couldn't hold his class together, which included some kids he recruited specifically? Narduzzi didn't have a problem coming into Pitt and holding their class together, and actually signing another 4star. But ya it's Marrone's fault lol. Ya ok.
