assuming the news is true

1. Poo
2. Larry Johnson DL (let Daoust go back to coaching DBs); Ron Vanderlinen LB
3. A couple of guys from a directional Michigan school with recruiting ties to the Upper Peninsula and Southern Wisconsin
I would rather get someone that can recruit PA and MD than more Michigan area people. Wheatley has that area on lock.

Friends and family, that's what it will be.
Better than the AT&T route, having them for 4 games and them quitting. Or the BlackBerry route, where every few months, he goes to Europe and doesn't work.

I just want a recruiter. I think that the MD area and Ohio could be nice. We went into Ohio to get Gulley and Coker and I don't think anyone since.. As for Maryland, who was the last kid we got from there Lemon? I think we could use some more production in those areas.

Assume Bees scenario I want the following :

PA/NJ/NYC/LI
NJ/MD/DC/VA
GA/FL/VA

Three new coaches with those regions

maybe, but i dont think that is a typical combo. maybe if they do hire a TE only it will be catalina who would come real cheap.

And if it is Cody, also a Western PA guy who could take that over from Conley.

I don't know who will come in but here is what I think will happen.

1. I don't think this is over. I think Anselmo retires.

BTW, "fired" is a play on words. Asst. Coaches are usually on a year to year contract. Don't know when the contracts run out but it might be 12/30. I believe they were probably told their contracts weren't being renewed. So they are in fact still on staff.

Great minds think alike...

So let's play the game, who is going to be shown the door and why?

Guys who are safe (IMO): Shafer, Conley, Wheatley, Anselmo, Adkins

That leaves Hackett, Brumbaugh, Daoust, and Moore. I don't recall any of these guys being forces on the recruiting trail.

Moore may be on the hot seat. I think Jersey Orange said that when he was hired he was viewed as a very average hire. If Moore is indeed getting off on the wrong foot with coaches in NJ (as another thread here suggested) and his name/resume don't seem to be paying dividends with recruits, maybe he gets let go.

Brumbaugh I am not sure about. I doubt we keep 2 DL coaches going forward. Daoust was hand picked by Shafer. If Brumbaugh is viewed as a recruiting liability, he may be out.

Hackett, not sure what to make of it. If we drop him then we need to get an OC who can also coach QB's. Is Kevin Rogers available? ;)
Not based on any inside info, but wouldn't be surprised to see Anselmo retire if not this year than next.

Good Call man. My bad. About him... I think he won a state title and did just about everything for his team. I really like him. IF nothing more than a great special teamer.

4. Daoust will take over the whole DL. Still down 3 coaches.
5. Will bring in a LB coach to take over all LB's. Down 2 coaches.
6. Will bring in a full time ST coach. Down 1 coach.

This makes a lot of sense. I had to double-check to make sure it was Bees' post.

where's that damn dislike button?

I must say the Jeff Brohm option is something to definitely consider.

Also, how about these guys as possible LBs coach/DL coach...who also have been known for their recruiting strengths.

http://footballrecruiting./viewcoach.asp?Coach=239

If they could, they should go after this guy:

Clint Hurtt, Louisville
2011 prospects:
Teddy Bridgewater, QB (Miami/Northwestern), Gerod Holliman, S (Miami/Southridge), Eli Rogers, WR (Miami/Northwestern), Bryant Dubose, DE (Oakland Park, Fla./Northeast)
Louisville was one of the biggest surprises in recruiting this season, and Hurtt -- ESPN.com's recruiter of the year -- was a big reason.

Also how about:

G.A. Mangus, South Carolina
2011 prospects:
Damiere Byrd, ATH (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek), Rory Anderson, TE (Powder Springs, Ga./McEachern), Tanner McEvoy, ATH (Oradell, N.J./Bergen Catholic)
Mangus was the lead on seven signings for the Gamecocks. Three came from New Jersey, where the program has had very little presence in the past but could make a major future impact thanks to Mangus

This should also be considered:

Anthony Poindexter, Virginia
2011 prospects:
Darius Jennings, ATH (Baltimore/Gilman School), Dominique Terrell, ATH (Manassas, Va./Osbourn Senior), Brandon Phelps, CB (Damascus, Md./Damascus)
Poindexter was the lead recruiter on more than a third of Virginia's top-20 class and established himself as a force to be reckoned with against outsiders trying to grab the top in-state prospects. He fought off Miami for Terrell and Ohio State for Jennings.

My personal choice for the obvious connections:

Robert Prunty, Texas Tech
2011 prospects:
Branden Jackson, OLB (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport), Desimon Green, DE (Clairton, Pa./Clairton), J.J. Gaines, ATH (Irving, Texas/Nimitz), Leon Mackey, DE (Wilmington, Del./Hinds)
Prunty was once the head coach at Hargrave Military Academy, so his familiarity of players, especially on the East Coast, was a major advantage. Jackson and Green were two of the top defensive line prospects in Pennsylvania, while Mackey was a highly coveted juco player.

PLEASE TAKE EVERYTHING ON HERE AS AN OPINION,...PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME TO THE GUILLOTINE.

Clint Hurtt has a lot of baggage from the Miami/Shapiro scandal. NCAA might come down on him at some point.

GA is the QB coach down here at U of South Carolina. And an offensive guy not a defense guy.. He also played for Spurrier. Great recruiter too...but don't think he is leaving...

If not for the baggage, I've always wanted Hurtt on the staff. His wife has family in Rochester and has commented in the past that she'd like to be closer to them.

Pulled this thread back from the archives. Hurtt back in the news:
@BFeldmanCBS
Heard from several sources the exMiami coach most tied to Shapiro scandal wasnt Hill. It'll be Clint Hurtt (now at Lville).
