Out, clearly we are very limited on offense this year, I don't really have huge issues with GMC, I believe with a better qb and more speed the offense will be fine, which I think is coming. O line is a bigger concern.

If GMC can continue to recruit and figure out a way to simplify he will be fine here at Syracuse. This offense isn't rocket science nor us it much different than what plenty of programs are out there running.

Bullough was solid yesterday but that looked like some more Shafer sprinkled in too

Shafer clearly got more involved. You can just tell. Bullough not the man for this job.

I agree, Just my opinion but Shafer should promote one of the d position coaches, and get more help recruiting, Bullough stinks

its not about gutting it out- its about starting to believe the guy next to you is going to do his job-
once you have faith in each other consistent winning follows-

you must have won big on the breeders cup

Why is the OL a "bigger concern"? They played very well considering we start 3 sophs, 1 jr and 1 sr. I've been pleasantly surprised with how well they've played.

The D has issues but looking back at the games , when teams have really had one style we have done pretty well stopping it. Clemson had a great QB and speed at WR, NW had a scrambling QB , running game passing game, PSU had 1 WR who made a couple plays, and GT had a scheme we just didnt handle.

NCst./wagner/tulane/wake we shut down.

Maryland/BC are more our style to stop.. Pitt is hard to read. some talented kids but really struggle some games and we know how to get to Savage..

When does SU go on break for the pitt game will the kids still be around?

I would really love to know if Shafer got more involved with the D. Part of me hope if was all Bullough doing his job and part of me hopes it was Shafer growing as a HC.

Needed will take charge in the classic and it would have been HUGE for the pick 4. Did ok though... My wife hit on the 35-1 who won by disqualification...

I know now wise dan is horse of the year, wanted game on dude to win the classic. Had about 20 people at the house going nuts for the last 3 races...good time

Not much depth, you lose macky and maybe the tackle. Tough to replace

How do you know?

So Marrone didn't leave quality replacements at QB and WR and now you're saying the same at OL? What happened to all the positive remarks people were making about all the OL kids that were being brought in the past few years?

Emerich and Knapp will step right in for both Mackey and Hickey. Both could be ready now if you needed them. in 2015 we should have an offensive line with about 130 combined starts, which is ridiculous

You'd be amazed.

What defense did we use? Has Shafer ever had to game plan vs an offense with the splits they took? We didn't seem to blitz as much as Shafer used too. I'm sure Shafer made input to the defense as he does every week, same with offense. But that didn't look like a Shafer defense except maybe the times we played Okie. And if he had a big hand in yesterday than the blame also has to be held by him for the GT plan. He signs off on everything.

I really, really hope you are right. That would make me feel a whole lot better about CB.

I don't feel that great about Bullough. I haven't since his hire and researching him.

Pretty sure Emerich took some snaps at center late in the game yesterday. Knapp, Burton, Lasker, Miller, McGloster are all coming back to provide depth. Burton particularly looks the part (on the side line at least).

I mentioned Emerich and Knapp because they are going to be solid 3 year starters.

Those other guys still have a lot to prove before they even get on the field during meaningful minutes...and none of those guys were Marrone guys, except Burton

I wish a reporter had the balls to ask him that question. Because the answer would tell us a lot about Shafer as a HC and Bullough as a DC.

The 2 JC guys at least have some experience. The others are raw, but are here and practicing. I have heard from a reliable source that Perles is an excellent coach so I'm not so worried about depth on the OL next year.
