At this point, would you even want Bernie back

Does he deserve to come back yes, Will he come back probably not. The morally right thing would be to say that if he is acquitted to have him back, but Bernie knows that even if he is acquitted the best thing for the university from a PR standpoint would be to retire.

YES. If no showing of any wrongdoing. Otherwise, Davis and Lang win and it encourages others tempted to making false accusations to try to blackmail their victims. If he did not do anything wrong, he should be on the bench the next day. Not even an arguable point.

Guilty or Innocent, Bernie is going to be one seriously colossal distraction if he were to return. So my question to all of you is simple:

Taking guilt or innocence out of the equation, do you want Bernie back? My answer is no.
If it is even a choice, then it means he has been exonerated. If he has been exonerated, he should receive a standing ovation, apology, and the keys to the city. I'm surprised at the number of people who want to write him off since these so far unfounded accusations were made. Give the man the benefit of the doubt, until discovery is complete. I think his service to the program, the university, and his community have earned him at least that much.

Yes if he's cleared or if they cannot prove the case. Impossible to take guilt or innocence out of the equation with a situation like this. I refuse to punish an innocent man for the rest of his life, distraction or not. If he comes back, time will heal all that. That said, I don't think he'll be back, no matter what happens with his case.

Even if they find nothing, Bernie will not be back. He is going to retire. This is from someone that has been around the program for 40 years. I actually had this conversation with Bernie a week before this came about. He said that it's getting to be that time.

Sooooooo...

Does the recent news change anyone's mind?

Bernie is done. Fold up the seat. I hope jimmy calls isiah whitehead's mother to explain situation.

When your secret life becomes headline fodder it will never again be the same. Bernie is toast. What remains to be seen is if he was indeed a child molester, or was he a bisexual who had a thing for barely-legal partners? The former puts Bernie in jail for a long time. The latter means forced retirement and public humiliation.
