at UNLV Kick: 9 PM Friday Oct 4

Thursday and Friday Jewish holiday. I plan on flying in on Friday, and CuseTroop might pick me up and I would maybe help make some tailgate food with him and lady troop. I really don't want to have to make the decision to fly up on Thursday as that is the main day of the holiday. I may book miles in case I have to change.
I have 2 rooms booked. One at NYNY recently renovated, and one at Park MGM non smoking hotel. I will decide as we get closer.

I may make cookies and have Alaska's sister bring them up as she is driving. Even better is if AZOrange is driving up as he lives close to me.

Mark I’d probably be interested if you are still with a surplus. Up to 5 potentially
Mark, get him in our group. If I can't meet him in AZ (even though we live just a few miles apart), I can meet him in Vegas, lol.

I sold-out over the weekend

I’ve been told the rooms in the tower have been renovated, the rooms in the pyramid have not been.

I don’t know much about the rooms at excaliber.
If I had to pick one of the two, I’d stay at Luxor, mainly for proximity and a better casino environment
Can tell you first hand as I stayed in the Pyramid in January and Excalibur in October of this year.

The Pyramid rooms were better, but there is no additional lock on the door, which is CRAZY to me. It's literally just the key swipe lock for security.

Either option as a budget option isn't terrible, but they're pretty dated and you probably don't want to be spending a lot of time in there.

I had a dealer at Excalibur last year tell the table when he had blackjack and when to and when not to bet insurance. But I also just had a great time playing until 5AM at Luxor. The only casino where I find the dealers to generally have no energy and suck the joy out of the room are at Aria.

That Excalibur dealer took to a ride to the train station with Rip.

Luxor for sure.

I just went for Mandalay Bay can get it under $150/night before the fees and stuff on Priceline Thurs-Sun sounds like its worth the extra. Kind of like that its at the end of the strip and you can walk across the street to a normal liquor store.

Kind of owe them a visit too I hit a pleaser card there maybe 8 or 9 years ago it paid over $10 grand had to fill out tax forms these are the tickets that never win where you give up an extra 6 points on the spread for a bigger payout must have had 5 or 6 legs. Kai Nacua Puka's older brother had a game ending pick for BYU and if he went down my bet loses but he took that to the house like 70 yards for 7 it was awesome. I also remember leaving my car in there parking lot for a month+ going home and renting one and then going back to collect it and drive it back.

I have a bunch of loyalty points to use with MGM properties. Anyone staying at anything MGM? Any recommendations?

I generally prefer MGM and don't think you can go wrong at their hotels. I consider Delano to be the best value on the strip, and I actually just stayed there again a few weeks ago. Great property and hotel and closest to Allegiant. My only issue with it is location because its so far from the heart of the strip and that's why I'm not staying there for the game.

If you want something more luxurious, Bellagio, Aria and Cosmopolitan all have much different vibes than each other and are great hotels/resorts. MGM Grand, Park and Mandalay/Delano are a little bit below them, but also have a ton to offer.

NYNY, Excalibur and Luxor are all great for families and a little easier on the wallet.

Hopefully the team flies out much earlier for this game to acclimate to the dry heat and time zone difference.

There's no heat in Allegiant. It's definitely air conditioned.

I heard Park is the only non smoking casino on the strip. Is that true? That might be a selling point for me.

Yeah I'm leaning that way too.

It's definitely non smoking. It's a great hotel. I stayed at Nomad there a couple years ago and loved it.

I usually stay at the Paris because of its great location mid strip. How does the Park MGM compare as to location?
Paris has a better location on the Strip, Park is closer to the game. But Park also has the free monorail to Crystals mall, Bellagio and Cosmo.

Vdara is a spa/hotel next to Aria that is also non smoking. Prob my favorite on strip right now. No casino so quiet when needed but has tram to Bellagio, Park MGM, Aria, etc so everything is a quick walk away.

Should add Vdara is MGM too
