By my count from looking at the boxscore, there were 54 stoppages in play (fouls, timeouts, turnovers that weren't steals, tv timeouts that aren't lumped with others, etc.). 23 first half and 31 second half.
The average length of play before a stoppage was 45 seconds; 53 seconds in the first half and 38 seconds in the second. 50% of the spans were 30 seconds or less, 70% were a minute or less. The longest span of stoppage-free play was 2 minutes and 18 seconds. That's just a few possessions for each team and not even considering the length of each pause.
As bad as this game was, I have a feeling that many games are as bad as this. Just terrible entertainment. I'd rather go see Baby Boss than sit through this.
