And decliningYeah Syracuse perception is hanging on by a thread.
That’s fairThe others I get, but how is Moo U a "better" job than Syracuse?
I mean, are they treating high expectations as a negative? Because I can't believe the expectations at NC St are that high...
I would guess Autry and any other coach on a perceived hot seat were not polled.
If we start winning again….My guess is that we are lower due to recent losing seasons. When we start winning and ranked again I imagine we would be fourth. With winning it will bring energy, crowds, and more NIL which would vault us to 4th, I would probably have Lousville ahead of us due to NIL funding.
If we start winning again….
And Louisville with 3 championships is ahead of us, even if they aren’t first in their own state.

BYU being able to buy Dybantsa supports this view.Copying a comment Jeff Goodman wrote on his ACC job ranking post because it's relevant to discussion on the board right now: "It’s weird cause all those factors (facilities, recruiting base, tradition) really don’t mean much now. It’s just all about $$$$"
Your conversation was the first thing that came to my mind. You need financial and institutional support to be successful no matter how good of a coach you are and it appears that many think that's an issue at BC and Gerry isn't stupid.I believe Goodman said that every coach in the ACC replied to this poll. And this is also relevant to the conversation I was having just yesterday about the Boston College job.
The timing lol
Nc State is 3rd in their own backyard-Not sure how anyone can consider that a better job than SU.

See, I think those are factors, just not the most important factor anymore. I think if the money is equal or close, then those other factors come into play. For example, if Syracuse and Rutgers offer the same prospect the same amount of money, then I believe the prospect would start looking at other factors but if Syracuse is offering 1 million and Rutgers is offering 3 million, then the other stuff wouldn't matter to most kids.

Love Billy Joel" SU spent $44.7 million to upgrade the JMA Wireless Dome with a new roof and seats. Haynie said this improvement has brought more people into town.
“Both the new roof and then the reseating have had a significant (impact). We’re back in the major concert rotation,” Haynie said. “The (return on investment) on that investment has been pretty significant.”
but... notice they don't mention drop in sports attendance . instead we get to watch billy joel retire for the 10th time.
All of those cases were special circumstances. Texas forced out Beard when he had a DV charge against him. He left TTU for his alma mater Texas before that. He doesn’t count. Shaka was struggling to meet sky high expectations at Texas and wanted a fresh start in his home state of Wisconsin at Marquette. Rick Barnes was also forced out of Texas and went to Tennessee, where he’s been killing it for years. Big mistake by the Longhorns. Enfield, too, was wearing out his welcome at USC and decided on a fresh start at SMU, which was hoping to land an experienced coach. Mick Cronin is a very good coach who was ready to take the next step up from Cincy to UCLA, where he has a chance to land better players in the LA metro area. UCLA is historically a much better job. I love Buzz but he’s a guy who loves program rebuilding jobs and then he moves on. He’s a unique bird and that’s been his philosophy—That it’s better not to wear out your welcome.Come on it happens. Mick Cronin. Andy Einfield. Buzz Williams. Chris Beard. Shaka. It still happens when a school is serious about getting a coach. Also goofy Ed Cooley at goofy Georgetown
