Here are the actual high temperatures in Syracuse for each day in 2014-2019 compared to the average high, (based on stats that go back to 1901) and the difference that day, + or – as well as a running deficit or surfeit. Here is the website I used for these numbers:

Comments: It’s been a pretty vanilla August with nothing but single digit differences< (and only 7 of 5 degrees or more). There were 16 days where we exceeded the average high and 14 where we didn’t reach it with one even. We gained a net 8 degrees over 31 days. But we ended with 10 days where we failed to reach the average high 9 times and one day were we exactly reached it. The nights and the breezes have bene cool, giving it a feeling of fall even though we had three more weeks of summer left after the month ended.
