From the sound of it Duke isn't exactly sad to see him go, plenty of big ego personality issues it sounds like.

Irving played a few games last year & Rivers one year that's why a mid major beat them, they had more experience at the point & a great baller.you gotta be careful with these one and done types. they dont always help a program and can waste some years for team players in the process.
tim thomas: nova as rivers: duke
I heard a rumor that his mother likes him. It's scary how often you can tell someones personality just by looking at their face. Rivers face says a$$hole all the way, and I've never heard a single opinion contradict that.
I think he'll do well in the NBA fwiw.
I also thought James Harden would do okay, so I'm an expert in these things!![]()
I can see him doing well in the league; he seems to be able to get to the rim no matter what.
I liked Harden too, I seem to remember the general consensus of the board in 09 was that Harden was overrated and Flynn was better than him. Whoops.
You mean a one game sample isn't enough to predict somebody's future? The majority of the board decided to downgrade Harden based on one game against the zone in 2009.
Most of us had never seen Harden play in full health. I saw him once and he had a horrible game. Sometimes we are too quick to judge. Fortunatly, at a later date, that will be left for someone else to do.I can see him doing well in the league; he seems to be able to get to the rim no matter what.

In fairness to Flynn, he was drafted by a horrible organization, forced to play in a bad system and has had chronic hip problems after his rookie year. Did your crystal ball tell you that before the draft? I hope Flynn regains his health and gets the opportunity to realize his potential.I can see him doing well in the league; he seems to be able to get to the rim no matter what.

I wasn't trying to argue that Flynn is or could be a better player than Harden or where they should have been drafted, I was just pointing out that Flynn's situation and subsequent injury problems have prevented us from seeing just how good an NBA player he might be. Hell, they don't even play the same position. No, but Harden is the third best player on one of the 3 best teams in the NBA. It's not like he is just an average player and is only better than Flynn because Flynn got hurt and was drafted onto a team that didn't fit him. The odds seem pretty low that even if Jonny was healthy he'd be as good as Harden. Which was my point at the time.
Jonny is a short guard who wasn't a great outside shooter. His draft stock went up because of a nice run in the BET and Ncaa tournament; there were plenty of signs that he was going to be overdrafted. At the time I was lower on his NBA chances than most here. I'm not trying to toot my horn here (well, not that much, at least) but this isn't revisionist history on my part.
