Babers or Lynch putting in Strickland w/Devito was brilliant

I think it was because Strickland is our best blocking back and picking up blitzes. Offered a little extra protection for Tommy knowing we were going to take some shots downfield. And props to Strick for that 10 yard run to get us down to the 5. He ran tough there and refused to go down. Set up the TD pass.

Absolutely another good reason why Strickland was in there.

Strickland’s our best back inside the redzone. That dude wants the yards more than anyone on the field, almost ran himself for a td over two or three defenders in OT

...plus the fact that Moe had the inexcusable fumble inside the 10 yard line. I don't think he saw the field after that.

Strickland already runs particularly tough in the Red Zone. Once he smells that end zone, he refuses to go done.

Didn’t he also play at the end of the first half?

i thought strickland played a great game--he never gets enough credit imho.

I think Strickland is our best RB in the red zone. He won’t break runs in the open field, not nearly enough speed. But good power. He doesn’t go down easily. The other two now each have a fumble near the goal line.

Strickland was in because both Neal and Howard were benched because they fumbled.

Howard went in again after his fumble so he wasn’t benched.

Personally I think that was about as stupid a play call to run with a kid who hadnt played the whole game. I would have given him a traditional carry before running some stupid option.

The spacing on that was bad to, they were too close together and on replay Howard almost appeared surprised to get the ball.

Hands down he is the best blocker out of our tailback group. Gotta believe coaches wanted strong support there. Anything extra we got from him was bonus. Agree he has been tough to bring down in redzone.

Much stronger this year.
