I would think making staff announcements with staff in the room would be a bad idea.

When most people have been talking about staff it's the coaching staff and not the support staff.

That said - it does make sense that he'd first announce an OC, for example, during his teleconference later in the day.
 
I think his "It'll take a little while" for the O to flow is an interesting take compared to shutting the dome doors. Preaching patience and not saying this thing is happening now may be the right approach. People were running into walls after Shafer said that but after they hit the wall they were looking at the results and unfortunately they didn't follow.
 
Of course, Shafer was taking over a program coming off a bowl game, and who gave the impression we were already rebounding.

I didn't say coaching staff. Support staff is in the room. I think teleconference is your best bet for anything newsworthy, but I could be wrong.

I agree teleconference is most likely, but why would it matter if support staff is there?

Either way, I assume this morning will be much more general anyway.
