A genuinely wonderful atmosphere for my 9-year old son and me today. We went down to Verizon without tix, and were inundated by scalpers the minute we stepped off of the Metro escalator. One enterprising fellow sold us tickets in the 3rd row behind the SU bench for slightly more than face value. Lots of orange everywhere to be seen.
Met Harvey Grant before the game; he couldn't have been nicer and autographed my son's program.
Just a few observations from being so close to the Court:
MCW was beside himself after Trevor bobbled the pass near the end of the first half. When he looked to the bench afterwards, JB asked him why made that particular pass, not wanting the ball to go toward the sideline. Apparently that didn't sit well with MCW, who got into it with JB as they walked toward the locker room. Thankfully neither holds a grudge!
Triche was in a lot of pain. When he sat out the last few minutes of the first half, he couldn't even sit down. He also came out about 3-4 minutes after the rest of the team for second half warm-ups. Gotta give him a lot of credit for toughing it out against a very physical team.
