back to back years of no NCAA's

There have been several pundits that have said sources confirm the committee wil take it into consideration.

I know SMU isn't eligible but why didn't Larry Browns team fold? It's easy to say they didn't play anybody but it's not like we lost to world beaters.

Do you really think it's a possibility that they would take that into account? What historical reference do you have to think that they'd give Syracuse the benefit of the doubt? I mean, in their minds, the suspension is justified, so wouldn't they think "who gives a crap what they did in those games?"

Somewhere it was quoted that the committee would do that...

You're the champ.
He found Iggy's play book. Nice effort, but he loses points for capitalizing NCAA in the thread title.

UConn and Clemson lost. We have better resumes than both those teams. The only way we don't get in is if we lose out.

It doesn't matter if its justified or not, if Jb got suspended for beating up a convent of nuns. They are trying to evaluate how good each team is, and not having a hof coach for nine games is a factor.

And while is was said, Palm (I linked this in another post earlier this week), makes some good points about how that won't/can't happen.

He did, and I agreed at the time. But a few people rose the scenario of teams that are right on the bubble line -- maybe it made a difference but it can't be detected.

But my point on this is that we might be ending the season on a slump to get on the bubble. They are then just as likely to say that the 4-5 can't be pinpointed to JB being one, but that we are simply an inconsistent team.

Maybe they will throw us a bone??

knowing that once JB is gone...4-5 will be 14-15 over a full season, till things are corrected...

Look, fact is, we just aren't good enough to win on a consistent basis. We can get hot as all outside shooting teams can. We get to 21 wins it will be hard to keep us out considering our HC missed nine games. Then, it's a new season.

Of course it will be hard to hold us out at 21 wins -- we would be a 100% lock in every analyst's view, and it would be far, far worse than 2007 exclusion.

They consider everything -- that doesn't mean they adjust for it. Different concepts.

I think at 9-9, we may not even need a bone. Hard to believe. but when you consider the last teams outs as of now (via consensus) is Tulsa, George Washington, LSU, St. Bonvanture, St Mary's you see why.

That's the thing. Folks around here (understandably) seem to only consider what Syracuse is/isn't doing. So much depends on all the other bubble-ish teams. As of now, those teams are doing nothing to move past SU for a bid.

We don't have to get to 21 wins. There is no magic number.

Lest we forget...

"If 20 wins and playing in the ACC isn't good enough to get in the tournament, then maybe we shouldn't be playing in the ACC."

If we are bubbled, we're NIT bound. The committee won't give boeheim the benefit of the doubt and/or ACC will get one less team in than the pundits project.

The loss yesterdat hurt but means we are likely playing in acc tourney as 8 or 9 seed against va tech.beating nc state is a must game plus a win at fsu or in our 1st acct game would make us a lock

I agree 100% with a win At FSU,

If its 9+1, and the 1 is Virginia Tech, my guess is good but not 100%.

That's a situation where we pray for little to no upsets in conference tourney's across the country. It is ineviatable that a bid or 2 or 3 will be stolen.

If we were an 11 seed after the loss id agree but even after the loss we should be a 9 seed on resume

The connotation from the couple I saw was that there would be an adjustment for it.
