Hope he heals up well...
I see what you did there with the title
He's very good. He started at CB every game of his true freshman season and most of his sophomore season. By the end of his sophomore season he had been beat out at CB by a true freshman in the following class, so he moved to safety where LSU had suffered a bunch of injuries, and started there for the last few games of the season.Hate to see any player get hurt. He must have been a hell of a player if he was able to start at LSU as a true freshman.
Thanks for the report. Glad to hear it's most likely NOT a broken leg. Hope he's able to get back into the swing of things soon. He's very good. Never missed a start in the 39 games he's been at LSU. Rather surprising he didn't declare for the draft this off season, would likely have gone in the first 3-4 rounds.
Big blow for LSU as he's a senior leader, has CB ball skills at the FS position, very good tackler, and dropped from safety to nickel when LSU went to 5 DB sets.
Good news for LSU is that it's the deepest position on the team, so there's plenty of good backups to take his place. Still will be a drop off from what Mills would have provided.
BTW I'm hearing now it's an ankle injury and reportedly it's not a break. Probably no better than a 1 in 3 shot he plays against you guys...if that.
Here's some career highlights if you care to watch...although why you would watch highlights of a guy not likely to play against you is beyond me.

Yeah a break frequently heals more quickly than a high ankle sprain. So far the media accounts are all over, from broken tibia, to broken ankle, to no break at all.wishing this kid the best. however, it doesnt sound too serious. fibula break without tibia being affected. 6 week recovery time. should be back to 100% before the season is out. no i am not a doctor but i stayed in a holiday inn express last night.
Harris is the clear leader, and the light appears to have come on for him. He's got the physical talent, not only a big arm but also a very good runner. Last year his issue was not knowing the playbook or being able to read defenses as a true freshman. The last few months he supposedly got serious about the job.LSUB, what's the QB battle looking like? I'm hearing Harris is the front-runner.

We'll find out when LSU plays Mississippi State and Auburn how much the light has really come on. I'm hopeful but so are the fans of 128 teams this time of year. If LSU can get even competent QB play they're going to be a very dangerous team, with a very good OL, elite running backs, and 5-6 deep with potential NFL guys at WR that played as freshmen last year.
Surgery on the ankle so close to the season is not good at all. Probably should just sit out the year, rehab and have a great pro career. I wish the best of luck to the future pro.Mills had surgery yesterday, now they are saying he's out for 6 weeks or more. Definitely won't play against Syracuse.
In other news, Miles names Brandon Harris the leader at QB. That's been clear from practice reports, but Miles is usually adamant about not declaring a leader in the QB competition most years (absent a returning, established starter). Count on Harris to start the first game of the year. Tons of physical ability, we'll see how the mental part goes when he gets to the games against Mississippi State and Auburn.
