I just heard from someone I believe to be a reliable source that Trey Deere was in a car accident recently and sustained significant injuries. I was told he’d be out all year. Feel like this is something maybe I shouldn’t be saying? But I’m surprised if it’s true it hasn’t come up on this board yet.

I haven't heard this personally but certainly could be accurate. Hopefully if true hes doing OK. He will certainly be missed but obviously his personal health has to come first

Horrible if true. I’ve been critical of Deere on this board but this is a very unfortunate loss. Hope he can make a speedy recovery.

Good thing GEB was able to get an extra year. Having neither in the Man-Up would’ve been disastrous

Wasn’t anything criminal involved ? Hope he’s good n tho sounds little messed up also hope just a basic or normal car accident if know what saying. Nothing involved to impair one’s life.

I had no idea GEB got another year. That's very significant.

Still kind of in denial with this. I assume he was home for the holiday? Feel terrible for the guy. He had a real chance to break out this season after getting his first serious experience last year. Hopefully he will be back in action next season.

Definitely Not the way you want it to happen but if we assume Deere will be fully recovered by about this time next year him taking a redshirt could actually be a long term net positive. Deere barely played his frosh year and really should have redshirted then. Now you get him for 2 more years after this season and (assuming he can fully recover), you know he's a guy you can slot in to start at attack as a crease guy/finisher.

For this coming season the path for extensive PT really wasn't there. I don't believe he was going to start at attack and it's hard to see him getting any sort of extended run as 2nd line middie as SU for whatever reason barely played him there last year. Again just looking at strictly from a playing perspective Deere RS this year I think could be an overall net positive. Obviously him getting injured in a car accident is the last way you want it to happen but I hope to see him on the field fully healthy in 27.

Deere and GEB are both excellent man up players. He will be missed their certainly but with Joey and Finn they do have a number of players who can finish in close. This opens the door for a guy like Tucker or McIntee who can dial it in from distance and is the one area in the man up SU was lacking a bit.

Assuming everything is as bad as has been said with Deere, we are suddenly pretty low in the lefty department on man up. Not sure if there is a lefty on the roster who can fully replicate what we got out of Hiltz and Deere. Hopefully a guy like Anderson is up for the task. Maybe Charlie Kraftson would be too. My favorite dark horse possibility might actually be freshman Bogue Hahn. Looks skilled beyond his years when it comes to stick skills and shooting.

I thought Deere would have a serious shot at a full time spot as a second line middie next season. He was playing there in the Binghamton scrimmage and he even had some nice plays dodging on their short sticks. Think he knows what parts of his game he has to improve to see the field. Similar to a guy like Thomson who expanded his game a good deal from his sophomore year to last season. Thomson also was able to get over similar yips finishing that Deere had as a sophomore. I think there is absolutely room for a guy with Deere's skillset at middie, especially if it was to compliment more speedy dodgers like Hottle McCarthy or McIntee. A guy like him can make a lot happen out of pick plays/two man game looks. I think this is a pretty significant loss, but easier to take if the injuries are not too severe and he can make a full recovery for next year.

Almost impossible to bring in someone new at this point. Deere is a big loss but your still talking about a pretty large roster to choose from.
Yeah, we could call up Wyatt Bowman and try and get him ready in a month, but that's obviously more of a hypothetical than something that will actually happen.

Probably wouldn’t happen, but maybe there is an outside chance they don’t redshirt Hansen Peck as was planned?

I think if there were multiple injuries that could be in play but SU does have Kraftson and GEB who can play attack plus O'Farrell not to mention multiple yound mids who can run 2nd line in Rawson and Hahn and even Pike. Think Peck is who they want playing a QB type role when Spallina graduates so hard to seem them blowing that shirt.

This team is not a Trey Deere away from winning a national championship. He will hopefully have a full recovery and take over when this senior class is gone, but I've already been seeing various seeds sown for the excuses if this team doesn't perform to expectations. If it's not this year, it probably won't happen soon, there are no excuses for this squad.

it may of been said previously n I missed it. But what happen to koby white n chrishawn hunter ? Did they transfer out ? Mean koby had nice size n whatever tapes i saw he seemed to have some skill. Also stinks to hear bout cam ryan. I hope we are completely done with any n all injuries. Also how is donny scott this year ? Vaguely remember someone mention he may gotten hurt again tho hope not. If anyone can shed any light on these players much appreciated.

I heard that White failed a drug test for a substance he didn't know about and is suspended, which I can neither confirm nor deny the nature of that, as for Hunter, I think he transferred but I'm not sure.

Donny Scott got hurt playing box again and will miss yet another season, that I do know because I saw him on campus.
