How many freaking times do all 4 of the non pg players start running down the court? Leaving the ball just bouncing and Gillon yelling for someone to pass it in? +/- 50%? Its on the same level as our historical FT % and our illegal screens vs opponent illegal screens. This is an epidemic every year. Just fix it.

And on a side note - I've played bball my whole life - I have no idea why there is such an obsession with a certain person passing the ball in. It should basically be "ready ball" a la golf. Whomever is closest (especially against no press) just grab the ball and get it in to allow for fast transition IF/WHEN possible.

Watching this Duke - UNC game is a thing of beauty. Reminds me of Kansas when we beat them in 2003. Grab the ball and GO.

Every college team that I know has the same person throw the ball in bounds.

Agreed. If you're facing a full court press, you probably want a certain player inbounding it(or certain players NOT inbounding it), but otherwise I'm with you.

OK. Fine - but that person better freaking know he is the inbound and be ready to roll. Tyus Battle seems to be our main inbounder and he just starts jogging down the court numerous times a game.

The ONLY way to play is the Press to tire like Lville did. And then you can take advantage of the brain farts of this team - like not having an inbounder.

FYI UNC has used Kennedy Meeks and 32 in the last 2 possessions to inbound.

I don't think the "problem" is as extreme as you seem to think it is. I worry more about defensive rebounding. But to each their own

My high school coach (this was post civil war) went to some college coaches clinic. when he came back, we had one guy take the ball out because that is what every college coach said at the clinic. We also had assigned seats on the bench because, you guessed it, that is what every college coach said they do. It didn't change our performance at all.

Na, I definitely understand there are bigger weaknesses. This, like FT shooting and illegal screens is a ridiculously easy thing to fix.

Think of it as Dave Ramsey's money concepts... take the easy small victories to gain momentum.

We can't just "fix" rebounding. But we can definitely "fix" our inbounding delays.

Yeah, but that was in the early 1900s. What do they do now?

It's annoying as hell to see Howard especially pointing at someone else to grab the ball and check it in.

I never understood why teams do it, and it drives me crazy, if your not being pressed it doesn't matter who inbounds the ball.

The poker room at the new casino in Schenectady was overflowing today at noon. But I digress.

I've got the bravo poker app and it looks like it's overflowing every day.

I guess the only consideration is that the 5-second count actually starts once someone touches the ball, I believe. If everyone else (the other 4 players) run down the court, you don't want to risk a 5 count.

That's literally the only thing I can think of that may cause this.
