Banging the backboard

This is apparently Grant's new favorite thing.

When TRob does it, it bounces us from the NCAA tourney with a technical foul. Has the rule changed? Is there a distinction between playing on offense vs. defense? Is it a question of whether it's unsportsmanlike? It happened 3 times today. On one of them, we got away with a possible goaltend.

Interesting. From reading it appears that if a player in attempting to block a shot and incidentally hits the backboard , nothing would be called. If a ref determines it is intentional, then a technical would be assessed.

It was against Vermont BARF! TROB went up and slapped the backboard as he dunked. It was definately on purpose, boneheaded, and the precise reason he got a technical. Just part of the list of the reasons we lost that day.

Part of why we have been so much better over the past few years is our players are smarter and play with a more "professional" and mature approach to the game. Thank god for that. The TRobs and Paul Harris's of the world were reasonably good players but dumb as stumps. Compare players like that to Ennis. It's so great to have a kid like him.
