All I can say is ... Wow. Tyler Ennis is as smooth of a point guard as i have seen here. He does not have MCW's explosive scoring threat, but he runs the point so well. The other frosh all looked great too. And Trevor made almost every shot he took, including many with defender all over him. Also, DC ran the floor so much better, and showed some fancy O moves. I watched the practice with Mike Waters, and he pretty much shared my take on it

Awesome news and not unexpected. There is electricity in the air! I am ready to forget all about baseball, put the NFL on the back burner and focus on Cuse Basketball Baby!!!

Bees has been predicting Roberson will start at some point this season. I find that a little tough to believe just because of who he'd have to leapfrog, but if we DON'T go with Fair and Grant, I could absolutely see Roberson starting at the 4 alongside either Rak or DC2 at the 5.

My prediction, but I don't think this is a stretch. If he stays aggressive on defense, takes quality shots by going towards the basket, he gets plenty of and relevant run this year.

Yeah there is so much potential this year. When you look at guys like freshmen scoop, freshmen triche, sophmore rautins, freshmen warrick, freshmen grant, freshmen pace, freshmen Fab, freshmen rak, freshmen Joseph, freshmen onuaku, freshmen watkins, freshmen nichols, sophmore Forth, Mookie the wrights, we knew a few weeks in they were not ready for big things.

When you look at Cooney he has a southerland like role this could be the year he breaks out, when you look at Dajuan you know he can score this can be the year he breaks out, when you look at roberson and ennis you know this could be the year they could not only be solid 3rd options, but be team leaders of 6th men. When you look at Grant you KNOW hes going to do big things. When you look at Rak you see more motor and explosiveness his potential is so much higher. When you look at BJ you see athleticism and a confident smooth jumper and sweet pullup with a dribble, when you look at Patterson you see long arms a confident jumper, with a motor. He and BJ hit a three or two from the corner. As freshmen thats a rare quality. I put atleast 6 of the 8 above in a catagory like jr/senior season southerland, sophmore dion preseason, freshmen greene, flynn and harris, jr season kjo presason, wes johnson preseason.

It sounds like Ennis and Roberson could be ready to steup up like freshmen Donte and Flynn. Cooney, Dajuan, and Grant with a year under there belt have so much more potential. If we had a second scoring upperclassmen next to Fair we probably would have been preranked another 5-8 spots higher.

I like Rak getting 10 mintues a game at pf for the first 7-8 games of the season, not just for this year but for next. And something like the first 4-5 minutes of each half is the ideal time.

I like Rak as our best overall 5 man this season, not so much at the 4 when Grant or Roberson could be gettingthose minutes.

In our defense? What does Fair weight? What has he been at his first three years? What does Grant weight? What does Baye Weight? Weight is not strngth nor effort! Forget it Roberson is ready and along side either CJ or Jerami we are golden on both ends at the forward spots. Granted Tyler will have to learn the slides, traps and such but he will.

I'm actually going to be back home in the 'Cuse all next week. Hoping to make it up to a practice or two [my father has a pretty good in]. If it works out, I'll do some detailed write ups--just like the old days.

I don't disagree that he will see more physicality and size, but he will adapt.

He absorbs contact very well. A few times I thought he got bumped hard, he took the contact. He's very strong for a high school player, so I don't see this being a weakness as he puts on muscle and weight down the road.

I hope as much as anyone he can contribute this year, but he is going to have to go through CJ and JG to do it. I think if he gets 8-10 minutes per game, he'll be doing well.

I didn't say he couldn't play the 4, I said he'd get killed against a decent opponent. Meaning size and experience would be a real challenge for him.
As far as Rok is concerned, I hope he makes the giant steps we'd all like to see. Right now, I've got to believe Jerami and CJ will see the big minutes at the 3 and 4.

Anyone that doesn't want Rak to play pf is hindering his game. Even if Rak could take his man one on one at the five he would not only lose a 1-2 inch height advantage to get his shot up, but could be against one stopping his layups. He also could be up against a center who can recover to contest shots with a wider body.

If Rak had the ability to go right, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the middle of the lane more, but he likes to drive left which is the pf's side. Dajuan has showed glimpses of going both right and left at last march, maybe that could cause trouble for opponents as he can move from left, to right, to middle in different sets.

I wouldn't expect to see rak get more minutes then 10 most nights at pf anyway.
