I've heard Tyus mention Kobe on multiple occasions. MJ may be the best player in NBA history, but no one that I've seen in 35+ years as a hoops fan hit a contested jumper better than Kobe.

That jumper Tyus hit with about 55 seconds left was quintessential Kobe Bryant.

I hit the same shot in my basement on my kids fisher price basketball hoop with him (5) hand checking me. Wasn't that difficult to be honest.

when he hit that shot my wife said "oh wow!" even she was impressed, and she aint the most knowledgable hoops fan.

Big time shot. One the play before he drove all the way and got mauled and they swallowed their whistles. I wonder if that was the reason he decided to pull up there.

I said recently that I expect Battle to be our best pro since Waiters. I still believe that and think he is physically more matched to the NBA than Waiters. His shot isn't as natural with the funky leg kick thing where he releases it almost on the way down, but I think he'll finish at the rim better and expect his shot to improve.

It seems like even if Tyus is struggling for the first 35 minutes - kid has ice in his veins to end games. I KNEW he'd hit that one, he doesn't seem to miss when it matters. Meanwhile, MSU had no one who could make a shot when it mattered.
