bballbeadle tearing up Alaska!!

None here either. Buy through American, but you fly Alaska until either Seattle, or Chicago (Or wherever your first Outside is) then switch to American.
good thinking. I've made the switch using SW at Seatac but you cannot check your bags through from Alaska to SW. Should be no problem Alaska to American

Never had a problem with my bags going all the way. It's the way to go for sure.

Man, I wish.. My buddy was just telling me about these a few days ago. Back in the day there was a direct flight from NYC to Fairbanks once a week on one of those planes. Those Fairbanks to Seattle, or Anchorage to Chicago legs are horrible. I'd kill for a giant plane, with a bar!
So, I have to tell you, having just now survived an Edgar Allan Poe-ish red eye on a United jet where the space was so crowded it felt like we were sitting upright in our own coffins . . .

Where was I going with this? I haven't slept for a day and a half - or is it two days? Alaska is superb, but United Airlines going and coming - a horror for two elderly-ish tourists. There was bad turbulence too, but that wasn't United's fault. Note to self: if I ever go on a 6 hour flight again, I will pay for a seat with more leg room.

Go SU!

Glad you made it back safe!! Man, the end of this month will be the first time I've tried the "east coast in a weekend" thing. Leaving thursday night. Land Friday night, ND game on Saturday. Fly out Sunday morning, land Sunday night, work Monday morning. Ughh lol.

A few years ago I flew home for the duke game, spent a week. Flew back to Alaska for 3 days, then to Orlando for a conference. That was a rough one.

SW does not transfer bags to other airlines and other airlines do not transfer bags to SW. I thought that I gave myself enough time to go through security etc when reclaiming my bags and rechecking them on AK Air after leaving SE, and I would have made it but for an AK Air Nurse Rachet that would not let me cut ahead of some willing people. Missed the connection and spent the night in some fleebag hotel that I ended up in by mistake late at night. It was New Year's eve. If you ever connect between Alaska and SW be more careful than me.
