BC bowl game delayed

Interesting.

That sounds like an awful idea to me, for a ton of reasons. And given the industry that supports bowl games, I can't imagine it's a feasible proposal.
Yeah, just an idea I heard might have some legs. People commenting were specifically involved with UGA and highlighting how atrocious sales/attendance was for sugar bowl last night. Dunno how far out folks are thinking and some assumed continued degradation of the current games. There’s already “preseason” neutral site games in Atlanta, houston, Dallas Orlando and likely others. Not crazy to just expand/formalize that late August wave of games starting 5-10 years from now. Every star plays and every game matters. I don’t see the downside of that relative to today (and I watch every game I can in the current structure).

One downside is that seniors who pour their blood, sweat and tears into their college careers wouldn't get a bowl game to cap that off. That would really suck.

Thing is, to your UGA call out, every year there are big time schools who's non-playoff bowl appearance is a let down. There are also schools like ours where an unexpectedly good year and an appearance in a Camping World Bowl can draw 25K.

I firmly believe that a 13th regular season game will be added this decade, but it won't come at the expense of bowl games.

no doubt the rain/weather kept fans away but best case they may have 10k in the stands

Im sure the players are amped up to be in beautiful Birmingham playing in a miserable rain storm.

Oh well, they are in a bowl and we are keyboard jockeys today

Yeah, that was my first thought, as well...but I also get the increased value of the conference championship game. That’s what you work for. That would be a real win that mattered, whereas now it’s either a gateway to something bigger...or pretty useless. UGA/Baylor to start the season in Nola is legit interesting. So is Wisconsin/Oregon etc

Well, we'll actually get to see how interesting UVa-UGA playing in the ATL is on Labor Day night this September. ;)

Cincy should be acquired by the ACC for a regional with Louisville, imo thats a sleeping powerhouse if they find some success and funnel money. More intriguing than Memphis.

BC should have pushed for another cancellation.

Good lord, the team that physically manhandled us is getting slapped around by an American conference team.

Nice! Anything to make the locals sad about their teams is good by me...and that’s the only team anybody cares about.

They are still in mourning over the loss of the Dazzler.

This was easy money. I made a nice chunk of change on Cincinnati -7 in this game.
No Dillon or HC I knew Cincy was a good bet.
I wish I prop Bet the line to -17 for +350 but I didn’t.

These bowl games all make $ or they wouldn't exist. The TV money is good. And if it only draws 25,000 that's 25,000 more people visiting these cities than what they normally would have during the holidays. You see some bowls die, mostly because of lack of sponsors, not because of attendance. I like all the bowls, you see a lot of interesting matchups from the conferences that you'd otherwise not see. Plus, I just enjoy college football more than the NFL.
