BC-FSU

You want an offense like this ?? I'd take Dungey over any of these BC qbs.

Well, they're playing Florida State.

Last week, they scored 76 on lowly Howard.

We've rarely been any good without a good dual threat QB.

We should have hired Addazio.

I'm okay with Dungey. But I like BC's philosophy.

Idc if they are playing Florida state. AJ Long put up points on them. Their offense was literal garbage tonight.

Our D was scared of Golson last year and we played soft. He isn't a good QB and we made him look like Peyton Manning. Every time I watch him play I still get angry about last year's game. Our D scheme makes bad QBs look good.

We were scared of ND WR's getting behind the coverage. Hence giving up the bubbles. We intercepted and caused tons of fumbles against Golston. Issue was offense.

We blitz and play zero coverage a lot. This D will make plays and force turnovers but it also gives single coverage and easy windows for QBs to throw into. BC is not playing the aggressive gambling D we play. Our D works but is hasn't worked against the more talented teams except WVU. If we play well and the D gets turnovers who could compete in this game. Our is not going to shut down teams with equal or more talent. It will give up plays and hopefully make plays as it has done for the most part.

And Louisville and Mizzou and Minny.

We can compete with both of these teams. We don't give up running plays and these two teams are dependent on the run.

No. Guy is a good coach but is more meathead than Shafer dreams of being (hat tip to Millhouse)

2012 offense won the Louisville and Mizzou games. The 2013 bpwl game we played a bad passing offense and we won. Our D doesn't shut down good offenses. I honestly don't want to debate our D because I think overall it hasn't been the problem. Our D will not duplicate what BC's front 7 were able to do against FSU. BC's front 7 is top 5 in the ACC.

Did anyone see the opening bloc on Sports Center tonight? The whole BC team posed on steps leading down toward the stadium, with Addazio in front. They get the cue and start slowly walking down the stairs. ESPN sticks the mic in front of the coach, and he says that the whole team was coming from Mass. Asked about the change in the "Eagle Walk" from football sweats to sports coats/ties, he says that BC is a classy university, and dressing up gives the school the respect it deserves (I paraphrase).

On the page, it comes across okay. Watching it live, the coach was smug and holier-than-thou. Really rubbed me the wrong way.
Dudes in suits.

It's not either or. You should rewatch those games - our D played against some good offenses and did fine. Our D can shut down good offenses, especially when the offense does their part.

I think our front 7 is as good. Just younger.

Also - I would not put FSU's offense in the "good" category just yet.

Anyone remember Harold Landry from recruiting? Dude's a beast. Too bad we couldn't flip him.

Still pissed about whiffing on that kid. He is a monster and would fit in perfectly in our schemes.

We have a difference of opinion I honestly don't want to waste energy arguing. I understand your position but disagree. Our O won the Missouri game the D was exactly bend but don't break and give up yards all night.
Louisville was the same way. Bridgewater threw for over 400 yards and moved the ball all game long. Louisville couldn't stop our offense at all that day.

The D doesn't shut down good offense unless its WVU. They play zero coverage with CBs giving cushions but blitz and force mistakes and hope the constant hits to the QB will wear you down.

I admit I may be blind but I thought the ball hit the FSU player not just once but twice. Again I may be blind...
Actually, that would mean you are seeing things - hallucinations - not blindness. Cut back on the alcohol during games.
