BC game Tonight: Easy Win or Trap Game?

I wasn't going to bring it up, but I was at both games in 2005. The 2005 Big East final against WVU was Saturday at MSG then we played the early late game the following Friday in Worcester against Vermont. I remember because the section allotment of tickets about 85 or so was right in front of douche BC fans and they were pissed us students stood the entire game. I don't want to rehash that time though because I was miserable and got an ulcer in my throat because of that game.

I can't decide between that and Butler for the worst loss since I became an SU fan in 2000-01. I did stupid things in the aftermath of both games.

Ugh that game was awful. The entire arena turned on Syracuse fans and it got pretty hairy in the second half. I got repeatedly taunted from our seats. Mostly from douchebag Pitt fans.

Tomcat and I had to sit behind a DB Pitt fan and his two kids. It was awful

My most painful losses as an SU fan are 2010 Butler and 2012 Ohio State. The Vermont loss sucked because I hated that team Coppenwrath and Sorrentine were annoying, but that 2005 Syracuse team underachieved that season outside of the Big East Tournament win. We got swept by Pitt and UConn lost to BC and did nothing in the regular season outside of beating Villanova. I doubt we would have gotten by Michigan State/Duke/Kentucky so it was bad, but 2010 Butler was a golden ticket to NC game against Duke. K-State coming off 2 OT game with shot legs against Butler, 5 seed Michigan State and undermanned Duke team. I think we get Natty 2 that season even without AO if we get by Butler. Ohio State sucked because the refs just killed us. 1994 vs Mizzou was tough. I think obviously 1987 NC game will always be #1 though.

Yes, the Dad just came to the arena to root against Syracuse. He spent most of the game teaching his kids how to mock, demean and insult Syracuse.

Good life lesson to teach your kids: how to hate.

You're right, my brain damage. I was thinking there was something odd about that year. Oh yeah, we won the Big East Tournament and then lost to Vermont 6 days later. Vermont made three crazy three point shots in OT or something like that. I think what I remember was the BET final was an absolute war. And at the time our team was flat.

I may have more brain damage but I seem to remember there was one year when we played the BET title game on Sunday night, and then flew out west, and then played on the Tuesday. It was like one or two days rest and it stunk because we lost. Then after that year I believe they moved the BET title game to be Saturday night. I could definitely be brain damaged. I am getting older and the beers are taking their tolls!!!
the big tourny always starts on a thursday.

now they do that little jumpstart, but Syracuse has never and hopefully never will...play in it.

u must be thinking of a sunday game to end the season and then a wed start to the BET.

regardless...too many beers.

Its stories like that why I keep my road appearances to a minimum after the final horn sounded I would have decked that guy. (I wouldnt really but I sure as hell would have been letting him know where he and his kids could go)

The Butler game was pretty tough, them getting to the NC game actually took some sting out of it because they just seemed destined to get there and because once AO went down I knew it was a matter of time before someone got us. Ohio State sucked to but again without Melo you knew getting to a final four or champ game would be extremely difficult, we trailed nearly the entire game so it wasn't as big a shock as the Butler loss but your right that sure stung.

Vermont to me was the worst, for some reason I just felt that team was final four bound if it could get by them, no idea why I felt that way I just liked how the bracket was set up. I knew we were in trouble on selection sunday when someone mentioned the one team they didnt want to see was them and sure enough we got stuck with them. Worst part was there two stars really didnt do that much, that freaking role playing guy Najila or whatever the hell is name is had the game of his life against us.

Vermont was just brutal. The only good thing about that night was the KU crapped the bed right after us, so I didn't have to hear anything from my friends here in Jayhawk country.
