That's a high-risk move for him. He's in a good spot as an assistant, might have made sense to wait for a better opportunity. But if he's sure he can do it, nothing wrong with betting on yourself.

Excellent hire for BC! They finally were able to land the top northeast assistant move that they were trying to do back in the Boeheim and Calhoun days. Exactly the kind of move they needed to make to inject some energy in the program.

Yeah it would be good if BC is good that we can get some of that rivalry juice back between us, but not too good, we wouldn't want that lol.

Murray’s options weren’t as good as people here thought they would be. Power 5 schools want coaches with experience at the HC level. Murray has never been a HC at any level.

That's a great hire for BC.

Always a gamble when someone doesn't have any HC experience. And if BC can't raise some cash then it won't matter much anyway. But a risk worth taking for a basement program.

BC is a tough job. They have little fan support and bottom of the ACC resources. I’m surprised he didn’t take a lower level job at a program where he has a chance to go to win the conference and make the NCAA tournament.

I think he will do very well. He knows how to run a championship level program and is an offensive guru. If he succeeds, better programs will come calling.

It’s a good move for them to go outside the box. Also, the Murray name could maybe help draw interest to the Boston market. There is a ton of money there if they can get the buy in. I hope they kind of do, not to the point where they become a threat to Syracuse.
