Melo Reacts to Syracuse Hiring Gerry McNamara as Head Coach

I really liked when Melo said, “You know, they love me, but they LOVE Gerry.” Someone was recently asking on the board why that was? I think it’s that Gerry gave his heart, soul and body to SU. Bottom line: the man is lovable. I watched the Duke game tonight with Duke friends and Scheyer was crying when talking about his point guard coming back 3 weeks after he broke a bone in his foot. Now, how can you not love that? I think and hope that Gerry will be that kind of coach, a winner with intensity and heart.
