All ACC schools are required to use the contact tracing mechanisms. UB was not and did not, which caused a lot of problems. Can’t believe a player could be within 6 feet of another player on the other team for more than the 5 or 10 minutes (whatever it is) but with contact tracing, it can be conclusively proved that no such extended close contact happened.

So I think you are wrong on this.

I am not saying it is scientifically sound. And by the way, I believe NYS has a more stringent standard than the rest of the US. But to date, the ACC and the local governments have a different set of rules if both teams have contact tracers on. I believe this is a fact.

It would be surprising if they suddenly changed the rules of engagement with a couple of weeks left in the season. But it is a crazy time and nothing should shock us any longer.

Still, I do not expect BC’s issues to affect Syracuse.

People that have already had it can be re-infected and test positive even if they are "functionally immune" in terms of having no symptoms/effects. That would put us on delay.

With the timing and everything I wonder if one thing had to do w/ another. Maybe Christian was lax following protocols, etc. It just seemed weird they’d fire him mid-season, effective immediately.

No love in my heart for BC, but they've battled injuries, coach being dismissed, etc. Feels like the players are being caught in the middle of an overall negative situation.

I would guess shutting down early will have an effect on money paid from conference TV revenue. Disney has already lost a lot of inventory due to Covid postponements. If schools start to bag out, it makes a big impact with ESPN/Disney.

If BC comes to the ACC and says they are done with basketball this season, my guess is the ACC says ‘are you sure? That decision is going to cost you $ dollars.‘ Whatever the number is, I don’t think BC can afford to lose it.
