Somebody better tell Donohue that he's in for a rude awakening because there are no easy games in the OOCRemember when Donahue said at the ACC media day that Syracuse was in for a rude awakening because there are no easy games in the ACC
We are going to be playing 2 of Georgetown, Villanova, St. John's each year who cares if SU needs a true rival in UConn my goodness. NO to future expansion without Notre Dame bringing their football team into the ACC and no to UConn. I could careless if BC is good or bad they are a Northeast game for Northeast alums to get to each year, and with Louisville coming in next year we will them as a rival as they have been good. Plus 2 of those 3 former Big East rivals enough about UConn. If BC continues to be bad, it's in SU's best interest to add UConn to the conference. I know people hate UConn for various reasons but having a true rival and a second northeast power would only strengthen the hold of NYC and buzz the ACC could create.
I understand some animosity toward ucon as well as potential downsides to adding them to the acc, but if you're going to talk about games for northeast alum/fans to go to, having an extra game is not a bad thing. Plus the caliber of the opponent should not be dismissed so casually, you may not care but a lot of would-be ticket buyers would probably feel differently, preferring to see SU against a quality opponent instead of a sh!tty one.We are going to be playing 2 of Georgetown, Villanova, St. John's each year who cares if SU needs a true rival in UConn my goodness. BC is basically the new PC game in a better city.I understand some animosity toward ucon as well as potential downsides to adding them to the acc, but if you're going to talk about games for northeast alum/fans to go to, having an extra game is not a bad thing. Storz = useless in the ACCI understand some animosity toward ucon as well as potential downsides to adding them to the acc, but if you're going to talk about games for northeast alum/fans to go to, having an extra game is not a bad thing. It's so much more important for SU to keep ties and play games against Villanova, Georgetown and St. John's. All are in key recruiting grounds and UConn isn't. We won't miss them in the least. If BC continues to be bad, it's in SU's best interest to add UConn to the conference. This is a better argument than "who cares if bc sucks, they're a game ne alums can go to". i would argue that sj/nova replaces the gaps left by, well, sj/nova as opposed to ucon. There are going to be less games for ne/tristate fans to go toBC is basically the new PC game in a better city.
Villanova/St. John's is the UConn game.
Georgetown every 2 years is fine.
Plus, we will be playing in a preaseason tournament in the NYC area probably atleast 2 times in 4 year cycles. Playing UConn is not necessary and the ACC doesn't need them. There will be games for Northeast alums. BC being average isn't a reason to add UConn.
I already stated that I get the potential downsides to adding ucon, my point was that most fans with limited opportunity to see the team probably do care about the caliber of the opponent.Storz = useless in the ACC
- New England is covered
- SU does not need another P-5 competitor for recruits (BB and FB)
- With quality in-conference opponents and GT, Nova, SJU, etc., SU doesn't need to add the puppies to that mix in order to compile a good RPI/SOS
- them
after the honeymoon is over, I have a feeling people are going to realize that we are FAAAR away from almost every school in the ACC and will wish that we had a couple more northeast schools in the league.
That idiot DiFilippo killed their football and hoops programs because of his massive ego. Firing Skinner and Jagz for dumb reasons cut off the momentum they had going for them. Donahue can't seem to get any of the Mass kids to stay home
I would love to see Georgetown come to the ACC. I know expansion seems to be set, but I would strongly favor Georgetown entering the league over the likes of Uconn or anyone else for that matter. Anyone know if there is any possibilities of the ACC adding Georgetown?
