I get BC not wanting to give up a non-conference home game to Fenway. However, I hope somebody in the SU AD office reads this.

If we are going to play the 2017 season on the road away from the Dome. Somebody should tell the ACC and BC come together and we can play the 2017 Syracuse-Boston College game at Yankee Stadium.

Now BC wants to play at Fenway but not this year.

If Syracuse played its 2017 home game at Yankee Stadium and Boston College played its 2018 home at Fenway Park it could generate some buzz for both games, give ESPN cool games and help the ACC.

This would work for both schools get it done. Especially since SU will need a season away from the Dome.

BC will want the gate at Alumni for Syracuse...no way they are giving it up with the amount of SU fans that come to BC.

BC is really struggling right now w attendance and needs all the games they can have at Alumni. I'm all for the game just giving the reasons it won't ever ever happen

Did you see the BC/ND game at Fenway? It was 80% ND fans. BC does not have the fanbase and will not draw the crowd to make Cuse/BC worth hosting at Fenway. It would look terrible for them.

Syracuse-BC would sellout Fenway. That game would not sellout Alumni. Plus the Red Sox and FSG would get sponsors to give BC money for that game.

BC wants to play at Fenway just not this year with a home game in Ireland against Georgia Tech and plus its UConn a nonconference team they don't want to waste a game at Fenway.

ND controlled the tickets. BC soldout its allotment. BC wants to play at Fenway.

They really don't. Couple it with their trip to Ireland this year (where they are paying G-Tech to go) it's just not happening. Syracuse would have been better served playing BC over there. It's a nationally televised game, we could play up our Protestant roots, etc.

It would be 2 1/2 years down the road for both teams...you know BC could actually be good in 2018. Sounds like a great idea to me.

You realize I said 2018 right? BC isn't giving up a 2016 home game with GT game in Ireland.

If it was 2017-Yankee Stadium 2018-Fenway it would work.

BC is paying GT a small portion of the overall money they are getting from the Ireland people, this game is a net positive for BC (the IRL people could have paid GT directly for travel expenses, but the whole $$ amount went to BC and they allocated GT their cut). That quote in the Globe was misleading.

They will play at Fenway again, but with the IRL trip, they want to make sure they have a certain number of games on campus. BC would have absolutely sold out Fenway for ND had ND not controlled the gate. I think a conference game would do the same, but not uconn, they bring no excitement and it would only give their mouth breathing fans more reason to show up. In all honesty, it wouldn't shock me if they played Holy Cross at Fenway when hat series starts again.

The other fear with Fenway, is doing it too much will make it boring and uneventful. The hockey event at Fenway got that way very quick. Once you removed BU from the equation and did it a second year, nobody went.

I agree that BC/Cuse would sell out Fenway, but so would any conference team to be honest. It is a reason for the casual fans to come out, especially in a place like Boston. Cuse for instance doesn't bring any more or less fans to BC than most other schools, but having at Fenway would be a reason for the casual fan to show up

And this is wrong about the gate at alumni. Syracuse doesn't bring an abnormal amount of fans. They're way behind the visiting turnout of FSU and Clemson and only on par with the other schools that visit. The gate won't be the issue, beause if BC gives up the home game, they'll get the money regardless.

Wouldn't a Yankee Stadium/Fenway Park thing work for BC fans? BC would get a neutral site game in NYC for its alumni and SU would get a neutral site in Boston for its alumni.

Red Sox/Yankees thing would be a storyline and since typically the game is at the end of the year both stadiums would be open.

When the Dome is renovated we are going to play home games in NYC and Buffalo most likely and FSG will want BC to play in Fenway whenever they can. Neither team would be losing a top game from their home schedules and it would create a little buzz for ESPN/ACC in televising the games.

You are absolutely wrong on this. Maybe it is true for games since SU joined the ACC but in the days of the Big East, SU had huge contingents at Alumni Stadium on a regular basis. FSU or Clemson have never come close to those crowds.

I've had enough with gimmicky ballpark games.

Play home games at home. End of story.
