BC won't like this

If it's an away game for ND, doesn't that mean additional tv revenues beyond their NBC contract?

Imo, that's not a boycott. Its a reason that said to some that the home schedule wasn't attractive (which it wasn't).

goddamnit i deserve the best or i wont go.

this is like the geico commercial. 'you wont be seeing me at the ice cream social tomorrow' or whatever he says.

I think they could barely squeeze Jim Nance into there.

My dad used to go to Boston Pats games at Fenway. They can squeeze more than 40K in there easy.

ND is going to give up selling 80,000 tickets in South Bend to sell maybe 40,000 in Fenway (if they can even cram that many in)?

ND refused to play road games at Rentschler Field, Rutgers Stadium, or the Carrier Dome because they were too small.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Wait...... I was at the ND game at the Dome when Walter Reyes ran wild for 5 TD's. So how is it they refused to play at the Carrier Dome?

They refused to come back.

oh,,,,,,, but i don't see how they can say the Dome is too small, when ND was here it wasn't a sell out?

That ND series was a 2 (South Bend) for 1 (Carrier Dome). If we scheduled that now, it would be butchered here. ND has basically changed their course when it comes to northeast opponents other than BC. They decided if they were going to play SU, Rutgers or UConn it was going to be at a pro stadium. It's what they've always done with Navy.

Maybe with us improving our position in the college football world, they'll view it differently. Especially now that we're in the same league. They've traveled to BC and Wake in recent years, both having stadiums smaller than ours. Wake not even having the desirable location that BC provides them.

Doesn't mean we get out of the current 4 game deal, but the key is to see what happens beyond...

I guess 48,000 isn't enough to draw ND's interest in an OOC non-rivalry game.

They didn't want 52,000 from Rutgers either.

Must be they want room for 20,000 Irish fans and alums.

"We're taking our ball and going home!"
If we ever get beyond the upcoming series that would mean a forfeit, no?

ND's AD said that this was a hoax. They are not playing UCONN in Fenway in 2014.

whoa everybody. Notre Dame is trying to start the ACC rotation of 5 games in 2014...if this is accomplished, I doubt that Notre Dame plays Uconn in '14...just a guess of course.

Certainly appears Swarbrick puts this to rest...he is wanting to redo Football schedules so Notre Dame is ready for the ACC--from ESPN article:

..."We have work to do on our future football schedules, given the announcement last week relative to our upcoming Atlantic Coast Conference relationship," Swarbrick said in a statement. "However, media reports today that we will play Connecticut in Fenway Park in 2014 are inaccurate."
