Beat Army

This game is going to be tough. Hope Dino can put the nice road victory behind them and ignore Clemson coming to town the following week.
Army will handle the ball and the clock for a majority of the time. That's the way they program themselves so we must produce when we have the ball.

Against UTSA on Saturday, Army had zero penalties.
For the first three games of the season a total of 9 for 80 yards.
I don't think SU should expect any 1st downs by penalty.

UTSA had the ball for 15 minutes in their game but they scored 29 points, TD passes of 44, 46 and 72 yards with their backup QB. Army will get some yards on the ground of course but we will hold them to a low YPC(they were under 4 YPC against UTSA) and we won’t let them pass for the 188 yards they had against UTSA. Army won’t beat themselves but our speed and talent is too much for them

After we go up by a couple scores does Army still try and grind it out on the ground? I doubt they have the horses to compete that way and it becomes a rout. Am really hoping the second string plays the second half

They are extremely disciplined and at the top of FBS pretty regularly for fewest penalties.
Dino noted this in the presser. I don't think that anything is lost on him or the team regarding how Army plays and how well they execute their gameplan.

I watched the game on Friday, knowing that we'd be playing the USMA next game. It's important to note that Army had possession for the vast majority of the game.

But overall, the game was pretty lackluster. We know that Army will be well-conditioned, disciplined, and they'll play hard / compete. But I agree 100% with your assessment that we will have too much speed / talent for them.

When UTSA turned it up because they were behind a couple of scores, Army couldn't defend the pass.

Our defense won't struggle to defend them as much as UTSA did, either.

Tough game, but I'm expecting we'll roll and see lots of subs, like the first two games. Which is a-ok, with a big opponent looming the following week.

Is there an active Army football fan board that anyone knows of?

Army had no penalties against UTSA.
Nobody wants to get a Code Red ordered on them.

Good article on Lucas Scott, who was one of the best players in NYS a couple of years ago. I think we did not offer him. I think it was a mistake.

Happy he is doing well there and is already a starter as a frosh. He is going to be a star for them.

Awesome, I appreciate it. I would’ve went and found it myself but was on the road and didn’t have time to go shuffle through them all to find an active one.
No problem. Their most active appears to be on Rivals but it is a premium board.

I don't have a subscription and suspect most here do not.

And there are 2 active podcasts to follow for this week.

Apparently there are talks with Army about joining the ACC for football only. I would love that.
