The feelings are strong that the ACC (Swofford) has something brewing.  Some have even suggested that the invitations to SU and Pitt were specifically to destabilize the BE basketball juggernaut so that the ACC could start cornering hoops with ESPN.  Maybe the ACC isn't trying to compete directly in football with the SEC and Big 12?  Maybe they have other plans?
 
Also, word on the street down here is that Greensboro's days as the ACC tourney site are numbered.  The CIAA tourney (predominantly black colleges) moved out of Greensboro a couple of years ago to Charlotte and their earnings rose exponentially.  They have since signed a 10-year deal with Charlotte and the Bobcats Arena.  This was not lost on the ACC head office.  They see BIG $$$ outside of Greensboro (think NYC and Atlanta).  Atlanta is trying to lure the ACC.  Swofford still has his eye on MSG.
 
I have a feeling there is more going on behind the scenes than meets the eyes.  Either way, I wouldn't want to be left behind in the BE.  Our move is going to be positive all the way around for SU.
