Belichick to UNC

I have an endless reservoir of gratitude for what Bill accomplished in Foxboro. I got to see a joke of a franchise, that played in a dump of a stadium (in my hometown, no less) become a dominant dynasty for two decades. I still can't believe it happened. Bill was a huuuuuuge factor in that. Anyone who's riding the "it was all Brady" train has no clue what they're talking about. Like, no clue at all.

That being said... Bill has become an arrogant clown and I've enjoyed he, and everyone around him (particularly that chump Mike Lombardi) get the comeuppance they rightfully deserve.

To believe that he could waltz down to Chapel Hill, install all of his cronies in critical positions, and turn the program into the "33rd NFL team" was outlandish and delusional. And I found it to be pretty insulting to those who know the college game well.

Awful hire by UNC.

He didn't pay attention to Charlie Weis. The famous "schematic advantage."

Except the Tampa Coach who was not a winner, won a super bowl with Brady right off the jump.

Oh you mean Bruce Arians, who took over a 5-11 Arizona Cardinals team and went 34-14 the next 3 seasons. That bum? And the team that rolled out a receiving corps of Rob Gronkowski, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin for Brady to throw to? Those stiffs?

Tampa won a Super Bowl because that team was loaded and they added the QB GOAT to it. They also had the 6th best defense in the league. Brady was awesome playing corner that season.

But sure, Belichick did nothing for 20 years in New England. He definitely didn’t draft and develop Richard Seymour, Matt Light, Vince Wilfork, Gronk, Devan McCourty, Logan Mankins, Deion Branch, Julian Edelman, Dontae Hightower, Jamie Collins, etc. and sign Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Darelle Revis, Brandon Browner, etc.

What a fraud that guy was. Brady definitely didn’t need an OL, receivers, a running game and a stout defense.

Just take the L, pal. The “it was all Brady” trope is nonsense.

LOL I just stated a fact. Like BB had a losing record when Brady wasn't his QB. That is a fact. And he did nothing after Brady left. Also a fact. You may not like the fact, pal. But they are what they are. Without Brady, BB would have been out of Foxboro like he was out of Cleveland. That is opinion. But a pretty solid one. I give him credit for taking advantage of not just having a great, great QB. But one that helped with the cap to insure winning. You can get all upset with me for pointing out facts, it's nothing personal for me. the guy has 6 super bowls because he had a fantastic qb. And has done nothing without him.

They just can't have his son replace him
Nope, that is what he is grooming Little Miss Sunshine for hopefully. We can only hope.

Unless she gets “in the family way”of course.

All of that assumes that Bill is still able to….as Archie Bunker once put it…”fork over the conjugals.”

Meh. He made a lot of good moves and designed great defenses when he was winning. He had really good records with scrub QB's when Brady was hurt. He made them look good enough that other teams wanted them. Eventually, he lost his mojo. Everyone does.

Are we giving Brady's 145 yards passing all the credit for winning that first SB?

Hearing after the fail of Mack Brown 2.0 and Bill B, UNC is considering luring Jimmy Johnson out of retirement. Even though he's only 82, they feel he's old enough to handle the Tar Heel dynasty.
Hard to tell if this is real or a joke.

Nah, it’s a bad opinion. No offense. Anyone who followed the early 2000s Pats closely knows that, while Brady was great, they don’t win 3 Super Bowls without Bill’s defense and special teams. Those offenses were largely pedestrian.

Now, the SB’s between 2014 and 2018? Brady was critical. The biggest factor.

Anyway, there’s “facts” but there’s also context. To ignore context is silly.

"Nothing" seems a little harsh. Cleveland doesn't win playoff games very often and Belichick led them to an 11-5 season and divisional round in 1994.

In 2008 when Brady missed the entire season and they started Matt Cassel, the Patriots went 11-5. In 99% of NFL seasons that's a playoff berth or even a division title, but that was a bizarre year where they missed the playoffs.

In 2021, the Patriots got to the playoffs with Mac Jones at QB.

Brady and Belichick are both GOATs. They needed each other.
