Dasher is wonderful on this board for just about everything, and is usually correct.

But this is way out of his purview
 
As a Bills fan, I do agree from an outside perspective that Belichick ultimately got fired from NE because he was a horrible GM and that outweighed being a great HC.

Also as a Bills fan, I'm enjoying his downfall and hope SU can stick it to him in a few weeks although there's some work to do after today
 
What a deal. From what I read at the time, the AD wanted no part of the hoodie but the BOT wanted to make a splash.

Wonder if any other school has had internal politics come into play like that?

The things that stood out:
1. "don't approach Bill." What a terrible mentality for a college football program to have the HC be so inaccessible.
2. His staff is a joke.

That school seems to love hiring washed up old men, but at least Mack understood college football and had some success.

I’m not surprised to read that Bill has received praise for his one-on-one coaching, and disdain for most everything else.

As a vociferous In Bill We Trust guy for nearly 20 years, I could see the cracks in the Pats foundation occurring as early as 2019. His GM acumen began to fail him. Rifts with Brady, Gronk and others chipped away at the team’s culture. Strong assistants left his staff and were replaced by lackeys.

It’s a shame that he’s undermining his legacy. But such is hubris.
