Belichick to UNC

No. This time they want infractions so that they can get out of BB's contract. Maybe they can hit BB for the grade scandal.
This is what UConn did with Ollie. Ollie sued them and got a huge settlement and Bill will probably do the same thing.

Least surprising news of the week.

Deflategate
Spygate
Now this

Belichek is a snake and a fraud. His career success hinged on lucking into having the greatest QB of all time. He’s a sub .500 coach without Brady. Total loser this guy is.

I actually disagree to an extent.

He is now a fraud 100% but when he first was the HC at the Patriots, he was a heck of a coach. Ive rewatched games from then and the way he talks to players then vs how he did as he got older you could see the change.

Im not sure what happened besides getting old and full of himself. But the coach he is now is just a shell of the coach that he was at one point.

Sad to see him wreck his legacy like this.

Different in a lot of ways, but not totally unlike JB. These legends lose their skills over time and the players are very different to when they were at the top of the sport. Its a young mans game.

It hurts me ears when even today, many refer to him as the best coach in nfl history.

I suspect nobody overrates Bill more than Bill himself. We're watching a man that became consumed by hubris fall.

Its a lot easier to fire a guy for cause for Mel Tucker offenses than Ollie offenses. What UNC has right now are Ollie-type offenses.

I think this ends up in an "amicable" negotiated agreement for BB to step down - if they terminated for cause its a gamble that BB has so much $$$ he wouldn't fight it. Unless UNC is sitting on Mel Tucker type offenses - that's a bad bet.

Deflategate wasn't real, Spygate was exaggerated by John Tomase, and this has nothing to do with his NFL career. Fraud lol.

Must be a sad Buffalo fan after Drake Maye ate your lunch last week.

The best coaches in any history ride the storm, don't over promise, snub the media, and also respect the players. Right now I have one SU on in mind we all can most likely agree fits that bill, and it isn't in football. Bell&Chicky only promises name, money and naming rights that come with me as it appears. Sorry to see it is not working out, but a first year or second etc gets that same stuff.

He’s the best coach in nfl history

The end was always going to stink for a massive egomaniac only child man child

But he’s the best ever. Sorry it hurts your ears. Those wins w strategic safeties, exotic defenses in superbowl!, et al

The end stinks but the rehash will be positive ultimately similar to others who overstayed

I personally think Andy Reid is a better coach but everything is debatable. BB was horrible with the Browns and caught lightning in the bottle with Brady. Andy has been very successful with multiple teams

U are crazy to consider Reid better. W all due respect. Andy has caught lightening w mahomes as well.

To discount the impact bill had on the giants and the jets really is disingenuous as well.

It’s a simple exercise really: in the salary cap era where it’s actually hard to sustain greatness who did it best? And who got the buy in from the best ever to be the biggest whipping boy/discounted salary to keep it going

I suspect 99.9% of owners would select belichick. Not this Michael Jackson end of life freak version but the guy who did thriller

I think recency bias is negatively impacting people's memory on just how good BB was. That said I personally don't think he was the best coach of all time - in fact I would put his mentor Parcells ahead of him, and for my totally own opinion I think Paul Brown and Bill Walsh are the best of all time.

All in the eye of the beholder.

Agree on Parcells, and I think Don Shula was pretty good with two different teams.

Heck Tony Dungy did good things with two teams, (he's underrated) but I am not putting him ahead of BB.

How about the guy that the trophy was named after?

The one who won when there were 10 teams in the league and most of the guys wouldn't be big enough to play linebacker in today's standards?

Yeah I don't think he was a better coach.
