Dude just doesn't quit.
* Steve Ishmael gave their corners and safeties some issues. A couple of PI's against him because he ran right by them.
* George Morris, for all the flak he takes on here, ran HARD today. Ran like a man. He may not be the do everything back we'd love, but he gives 110% out there.
* The defense played better today. Baby steps. They are starting to come together slowly but surely. Leonard Fournette is so damn good, that I don't sound silly saying they played him well. He's just so good. Most likely the best back we'll see in the next eight years, let alone the next eight games.
* They can't, but if this team could show up with this much effort every game (and with Erv and Dungey back in the mix) I'm not sure there's a team they can't hang with and beat on the rest of the schedule.
*We're getting better, and this game showed that. I really dig what the offense is doing. It makes fast defenses have to think about misdirection, and Lester seems to be getting a feel for play-calling. They had a great game-plan Saturday, and it gave LSU fits.
* I love Lester's comment to Mahoney that he "wasn't having fun out there" in the first half. Isn't that what it's all about? Go out, play hard, and love the game. He settled down the second half, and gave a national title contender everything they could handle. Screw Ohio State, we have a 5th string quarterback that's competing! With that said, in retrospect, how I would have loved to see Dungey out there today. I think he would have done some things against LSU.
* Central Michigan gave Michigan State a fight today. I think SU may be better than we think this year. Upward trajectory, that's what I want to see each game. Build on the things you did in the past and continue to get better.
* The 2012 team was fun to watch, but they were senior laden at a lot of positions. This damn team is so young, it's like they don't realize Syracuse is supposed to be a doormat. That's what young blood can do. They don't get that they're not supposed to compete in these games. They don't have history weighing them down. They just go out there and play.
