Who’s perception of Benny was ”meh”?

I can only speak for myself, I just wanted to see him on campus before I got excited. We just got burned twice with guys committing and not showing up...

Twice… out of how many recruits in the program’s history?

Does it change your life in some way by assuming the worst?

Just trying to understand the mentality.

Nobody super impressive though. Jayden Gardner should be legit for UVA but its hard to be 100% certain with how bad ECU has been. Caleb Mills might be really good for FSU but I'm not sold on that, either.

Guys like Caleb Mills, Storm Murphy, or Brady Manek are good but nothing special. The portal was definitely pounded but the talent level as a whole is pretty underwhelming.

There is definitely a path for us to finish top 4 in the ACC because of it though.

One thing I find interesting is that Cole Swider was #34 in the ESPN Top 100 rankings back in 2018.

Just saying. I am hopeful it was a system fit issue or lack of consistent minutes, and he comes in and plays to his potential.

I mean the graphic is a little misleading. It's top recruit for each individual ACC school. Duke also has AJ Griffin and Trevor Keels who are both 5 star guys. There are also 2021 recruits like Carter Whitt (4 star) at Wake Forest who took advantage of the early enrollment due to COVID year. Plus a lot of these teams are using the transfer portal to get proven impact guys vs HS kids.

I think everyone understands what the graphic is. I believe if you took the top recruit for every ACC school for the past 10 years, this one would be by far the worst.

Duke had a good recruiting year. Not as crazy good as they usually do but still very good.

UNC’s best recruit is outside the top 50? FSU doesn’t have anyone better than the #40 recruit? UL’s best is #76? UVA’s best is #87? Are there really 5 ACC schools that couldn’t find a single player in the top 100?

And the only school with a really good class has a lame duck coach who is being replaced by a nobody.

This kind of a result should be unthinkable. I find it very disturbing.

I understand. The fact remains that this is an awful year for basketball recruiting in the ACC.

Agree about Cleveland, who got a big bump very late in the recruiting cycle after verballing to FSU.

He would look no better in any other uniform but this one! He will be an awesome player and will do some damage here.
I know this is not the time for it but it's just the pair of him and Richmond would have been something amazing but that's the last I'll speak about that.
