It’s clear how different our team has been compared to teams winning games in the tourney. Benny needs to be our 3rd best Forward, not the best.Just watching the NCAA tournament this weekend, Benny seems like the type of players good teams have 3 of.
Hope you're right.

Exactly. UConn plays 9-10 guys a game. Alleyne, who was at Va Tech before, comes off the bench as a sharpshooter for 15-20 mpg. That’s what a guy like Bell should be as a sophomore.Just watching the NCAA tournament this weekend, Benny seems like the type of players good teams have 3 of.

I think the Benny Williams from this past year isn't a starter on a contender. The Benny Williams who played so well to end the season might be. Having a guy of his measurables who can also shoot turn the corner and start to become multi dimensional would be huge. Some players are late bloomers. It happens. It’s clear how different our team has been compared to teams winning games in the tourney. Benny needs to be our 3rd best Forward, not the best.
I hope you're right but it leaves me wondering, what kind of different approach might he thrive on? I'm not being snarky, just genuinely interested cause this year seemed much more of what Benny didn't do than Jim's strategy not working for him. This wasn't a Roberson issue. He got plenty of time and until later in the year didn't get the hook right away.I think Benny can be who we all hoped he would be, given a different coaching approach. If he stays and he is our third best forward, then we will be VERY good.
I don't know for sure, but it feels like his freshman year and the general way he was treated this year may have made him doubt himself to the point he didn't know how to play and please the coach. At the end of the year, he seemed to just be playing hard. I think that Red will instill the confidence that a player like Benny needs to thrive. I have no idea if this is how it plays out, but Benny is VERY talented, and if Red can figure out how to get Benny to fulfill his promise, we will all be happy with the result.I hope you're right but it leaves me wondering, what kind of different approach might he thrive on? Fair enough. He certainly is a talent so let's hope things align, starting with him definitely coming back!I don't know for sure, but it feels like his freshman year and the general way he was treated this year may have made him doubt himself to the point he didn't know how to play and please the coach.
