Best opposing RB to visit Syracuse

It's that speed in that diesel body. I'll add that Jamal Lewis when he was on Tennessee was a beast too.

Whenever he goes pro, I'm immediately drafting him in fantasy football and predicting he'll go for 1000+ yards and 10+ touchdowns as a rookie.

If he's playing Jacksonville, he could do that in his 1st game.

Jim Thorpe was pretty good too.

Curt Warner of PSU ran for 281 yds in the Dome in 1981 (still the Dome rushing record). Had two 1982 NFL 1st round OL selections, Sean Farrell and Mike Munchak, one 2nd rounder, C Jim Romano and a 3rd round TE, Vyto Kab blocking for him. Also, PS had a 5th round FB, Mike Meade. Team was loaded and many of us were truly beat-up after that game...a 41 - 16 loss before 50,037 fans.

Thorpe played in the dome?

Thorpe died in 1953, so unless he was privy to a wrinkle in the time-space continuum, he probably never played there.

Carlisle did have a good physics department back in the day...

Aha! So, he never played here - flag on the play.
Anything going on that would distract you?

No Thorpe played in Syracuse but never in the Dome. In fact they played games in Syracuse 1910-1914. Thorpe was with Carlisle 1907-1912.

WOW, as Johnny Carson would say, "I did not know that."

In 1922 SU was the only team to beat mighty Nebraska who in kind was the only team to beat the 4 horsemen of ND. We also beat Nebraska in 1923 who would again go on to defeat ND that same season. A Knute Rockne led ND at that.

I'll go with Butler By'not'e. Not because of his performance on the field (it was teammate Eddie George scoring 3 TDs on us in '92), but because I've always thought he had a cool name.

And humble. I didn't once see him disrespect anyone or showboat. He acted like this is routine.
one of my favorite things about the kid. When he scores, he hands the ball to the ref without celebration. When asked about the heisman talk, he responds with talk about team goals.

I noticed and appreciated that #7 let his performance speak. He reminds me of Jim Brown who also played at about 230 pounds and who was also just as likely to pile into a defender as he was to try to dodge the defender.

Best I've ever seen. Huge drop off for them with the backups. Without Fournette, LSU is maybe a 6 win team. He's a once in a generation player.
LSU hasn't won less than 8 games in the past 16 years. So I highly doubt they'd be "maybe" a "6 win team".

Of course, he *did* catch hell for doing the heisman pose after his first td last year. I could care less and like to see antics/emotion but he did learn from the (santimonious) outcry and seems to have a great handle on the pr aspects of life now.

Wow, really? That's pretty impressive for a team that hasn't had good quarterback play in 10 of those 16 years. Ok, then you'd be an 8 win team.
