Looking at those standings reminds me of what is disturbing about the current Big East configuration.

Of the top 8 teams 5 are carpet baggers Marquette, Notre Lame, South Florida, Louisville and Cincy. The original Big East members are really having a rough year.

Another season like this one and all of my reservations about leaving the Big East and going to the ACC will be gone.

I really, really hate seeing Uconn as a 9.

Looking at the standings and taking Providence out of the equation because they are not making it to Thursday, we wil probably have to face Uconn, West Virginia or Seton Hall. Unless USF or Cincy drop to the 8-9 line.

The first game will be a difficult one.

Thank you! I was waiting for this, thinking it will somehow help me figure out buying tickets. But as I stare at it, I remain as uncertain as ever. Still, it's a good guide.

There are no easy games among the top 8 in the Big East conference. That said we are clearly better than the other teams that we will face and we will be playing on our second home floor. No real reason to be worried about anyone we will face. Add to that that if we take care of business over the next four games we'll be playing with house money and what's to be worried about??

All I know is that the tuesday games (if things hold) will be ridiculously entertaining. Teams like Pitt/Uconn/St. Johns/WVU who will bring fans to the stadium. Pitt and Uconn trying to get that magic like Uconn had last year by trying to win 5 in 5 days. Normally Tuesday is boring but now it will be very entertaining. Things will obviously change but some of these teasm will be playing on Tuesday.

more then anything i hate a noon weekday game

the way the big east is now, the #1 gets a double bye, but is almost surely going to see a team fighting for their life on the bubble, just look at teams 7-11 in the standings right now anyone of them will be salivating at a shot at syracuse to boost their resume, so no matter what it is going to be a tough game for Cuse, probably harder than our semifinal game will be

Looks like Rutgers may be be pretty busy Thursday. Playing both afternoon and night.

I honestly believe there is no team I would fear in that 8-9 range. UConn would have talent and would be tough, but in MSG I would take our chances against them. Their perimeter defense is porous and they would only beat us if they shot as well as they did at the Dome and I doubt they would. West Virginia needs to about the game 2 weeks ago without Melo. I would relish another shot at them just to shut Huggins up about that game turning a potential tie game against them into an automatic loss. Seton Hall wouldn't have a chance against in MSG. JB should use this game to simulate what to expect in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament because these teams will be about 8-9 seeds in the NCAA tournament and we will be playing a game like this a week later. If somebody had given me in the preseason of the Big East season 100-1 odds that South Florida could get a double bye I wouldn't have touched it at all. All they need is 1 upset and to beat Pitt and they will do it.

that makes zero sense, how does one upset and beating pitt get them a double bye?

Says the guy whose team shot 64 percent! :)

USF is 9-4 right now, they should beat a struggling West Virginia team at home to get them 10 wins. If they were able to beat Pitt on the road which is a tough place to win that would get them to 11 wins.
There other 3 games are Notre Dame, @Louisville, and @Syracuse if they got 1 upset there they would have 12 wins. 12-6 should get them a double bye, Syracuse was 12-6 last year and was the 4 seed. 12 wins should get them a bye. That is why I said beating Pitt and 1 upset should get the a double bye. If they beat Louisville it would give them the head to head tiebreaker and if they beat ND or SU they would have the best win tiebreaker. Georgetown has to play Notre Dame 1 of those 2 has to lose and Marquette has to play @UConn so I am sorry if my statement sounded wierd to you but its not.

Do you know the definiton of porous? ;) breachable: easy to cross, infiltrate, or penetrate. The reason we shot so well was the UConn defense was awful. UConn played well against the zone on offense but your defense was awful and I doubt Napier plays as well as he did against us as he did on Saturday. Syracuse played a tough defense on Monday and looked what happened a Big 10 game broke out and we escaped Louisvile with a 1 pt win. UConn is a decent VERY talented team, but not a team as good as the Georgetown team we played in the BET 2 yrs ago or the UConn team in the BET last yr.

I would say that their chances of going 0-5 are about the same as of going 3-2.

I don't think that opinion is wrong by any means, but my point was its unbelievable to think USF could get a double bye if they beat WVU and Pitt and get 1 upset. They could easily lose all 5 and drop into the 8-9 range for us in the BET which would be great for Syracuse

I was just confused by the one upset because every one of their last 5 games will be an upset if they win
